So when we went home a couple months ago, my Mum was getting my Granny's house cleaned out as it was up for sale.
She asked if we wanted to go through and pick out stuff we wanted, I grabbed a few small things for some dear friends of mine that I know would appreciate a little something of Granny's. Since we live in Arizona and my whole family is in Canada, it's not as easy as saying "hey I'll take the bed" well we did take an old headboard and foot-board and a few other things we will have to pick up and drive home some time.
As we were in the kitchen, I opened up a cupboard and I saw "it" and my heart went pitter pat. I said "I want the spoon jar, and the spoons that are in it" now to some this would seem silly, I mean who uses a spoon jar anymore. But this gave me such good memories of eating cereal, soup, ice-cream, and hearing the spoon jingle against the jar as you took it out, it is a special memory to me and I wanted it. I have the spoon that was Granny's favorite, she always used it.
And here it is, it's priceless to me. Yeah call me weird, and oh my gosh so I get it home and I am so excited I put our spoons in it too, out of the silverware drawer thing, and a few days later I go to get a spoon and ALL the spoons are back in the drawer and the spoon holder is gone. I totally panicked. Eric can be a brat and well he hates change, and I was freaking out "where is the spoon jar? where is the spoon jar?" and of course Eric is like "I don't know", well he is way taller then me, and I got a chair and I am looking back in the back of the cupboards and that is where he put it. I was so mad, cause if he had of broken it, well it would have not been a good thing.
So he understands now about the jar and he has come to terms with it and he has made peace with it.
So anytime you come over for coffee, icecream, cereal, whatever, I hope you will use a spoon from my Granny's spoon jar and smile.
OK, back to stamping, here is a little 3-d take out box I did for displays, I love the Build a Brads and this stamp set just begs to have one put in the center of the flower, in fact a lot of display stampers had the same idea.
