So in Jan/Feb Stampin' Up! contacted me about doing a Diorama card for the July Stampin' Success magazine, I learned how to do these at a Stamp & Scrap University that we taught years ago. Then I was asked to teach them at a Managers Reception a few years back. So I was surprised that they even remembered that I did them. But anyway they said that they would like it if I could give some tips for the 3-D article that was coming out and make a diorama too. I love making these and they are really so simple once you get the hang of them, plus it makes you look at your stamps in a whole other way. Stamp Set: A Kind Word, Owl Together Now, A Flower for all Seasons
Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Baja Breeze, Blush Blossom, Brocade Blue, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Going Gray, Kiwi Kiss, More Mustard, Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Regal Rose, So Saffron
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP, Watercolor paper
Misc: Linen Thread, Aqua Painter, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, white gel pen

I have a Parisian Breeze DSP class coming up, I wonder if everyone would want to have this be one of their make n takes? Hmmmm!!!!
So how surprised was I when I got the Artisan Award call and they said that the winners would be announced in the July Stampin' Success, and I was thinking ohhh that will have my diorama tips in it too...gee, are people gonna be sick of my name? Oh there's that Diana again...good grief! So hence the title of this post...everyone knows what a dit is right? If any of you have been to a class at my house, you know that I have an odd way of measuring. I sucked at math, and well I still do, when I am cutting I say 2 inches plus a dit, then I know that I cut on the little mark after the two, or 1 dit before the 2, is the little mark before the two. That was one thing that my BFF Tracy and I laughed about, we have so much in common, (freakishly so) we were gabbing one day, and I said I say dit when I measure, and she laughed cause she says ditty!!! Our hubby's don't find it so funny, their brains understand 15's and 18's and stuff. In fact Tracy's sugar pie hunny bunch Steve cut a whole bunch of cardstock wrong one time, cause his ditty was not the same ditty as her ditty...you know men and their measurements....I am sure his cardstock was cut too big...ha!!!! (just joking!) So Steve taught Tracy to measure properly. At one of our big group events, I had to give out hand written measurements, so I had Jeff tell me what they were, and you know what? At the event everyone wished I would have used my dits, cause it is easier to understand.....but I will be honest depending on the cutter you use, the dits may not be the same...so when I say dits, it is from my big rotary cutter, and I think there are less dits on it then my personal cutter...OMG! All this talk has got me ditty dizzy now.
Oh and we did it...500K hits happened today! Holy Moly, I best be figuring out some blog candy eh? Perhaps I should wait till I can order out of the brand new catalog, and perhaps let the person winning the candy have a choice...this might be fun.

Hey! Congrats on the Artisan Award, being remembered for your dioramas (this one is amazing by-the-way!) and on your Hits milestone. I enjoy your projects and your gab! lol :) I have been eyeing this stamp set b/c the girl in the swing looks like my niece with her wild hair and sweet face. I want to do this diorama now!

Diana this is so super duper adorable I can't stand it!!!!!!!! It's funny because you gave me one of the chicky ones you made and just this past month I finally made one of my own from that stamp set with the bench and boots....it came out cute BUT NOT THIS CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This card is the BOMB!!!!!!!!!!! SOOOOOO happy for you that you won the Artisan Award as well - congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You SO deserve it - and I am so happy for you!!!Can't wait to see you at Convention!!

I love the diorama!! Beautiful!
Oh and my kids say "Just a titch..." Their preschool teachers way of saying just a little! LOL! I love the dit and ditty!! I would say something like that too!
