"V"

Well I watched "V" tonight, and at first I was totally NOT impressed with the beginning.  It said something like "where were you on 9-11?", and then it said "where were you this morning?" or something like that.  So I don't like that they used that as a comparison, I mean come on, 9-11 was a terrible, horrible real life tragedy, and to try to compare it with a tv show about aliens coming to our planet, was not very nice in my opinion.  I almost turned the tv off, and said forget about it.  But I told Connie (thanks girlfriend...she called me to remind me it was on tonight) that I would give the show a couple episodes before I decide one way or the other.

So it was good after the beginning.  It has been years since I saw the original and I can't remember if we saw the lizard skin right in the first episode, but times have changed, and we have NO patience, so if things don't happen quickly we get bored, so I am glad they got right to the nitty gritty in the first episode.  I do need to look up what the heck a sleeper cell is, cause that part had me lost. I will watch it next week and see if it still keeps me wanting to watch more.

I do love Scott Wolf, who plays the reporter tv guy, he reminds me of Tom Cruise, and I loved him on Party of Five.  So it is nice to see him on tv again, with that crooked cute smile that he has.  I was also so excited to see Alan Tudyk on the show, I love him, he is so funny.  If you have not seen the movie "Death at a Funeral" you have to rent it.  Alan plays Simon, it is a British movie, so I suggest turning on the subtitles, you hate to miss any of the words, especially with the British slang, I love swearing with a British accent, cause it really seems almost royal.

HI DI, I heard on the news that they are only going to show 4 episodes of V this year and will wait till next spring to show the rest, it's hard to remember stuff when you have to wait (right Lost fans?)

Love the movie "Death at a Funeral" so much! We've roll over laughing whenever we watch it. Alan Tudyk makes that movie. If you're a Joss Whedon fan, you might enjoy watching Alan Tudyk in the "Firefly" series.

I totally agree, some of it was very poorly thought out and tasteless, and makes you wonder how it got approved in the first place.

But will watch it a few more times before I make my final decision.

I watched V last night as well Who had the BRILLIANT IDEA to show a plane crashing onto the streets of NYC? That was just totally NOT cool. However, I did finish watching the episode, and while the beginning had a few tasteless moments, overall, the show was ok. I may watch again next week. I am curious to see how the mother/son relationship develops.
