So I can let you in on one of my exciting bits of news.
The other day I got an email from Kristi Ferro, the owner of Hanna Stamps , she is also the Mum of the real Hanna. She asked me if I would be interested in joining her Design Team, and I screamed out loud YES!!!, this has been a little secret wish of mine to be asked, and then I read further in the email and Kristi said to think about it, well 2 seconds of thinking about it was long enough, I emailed back and said I sure would join the Design Team, and I feel honored to be asked. Hanna Stamps just celebrated their first Anniversary too! How fun is that!
So I was playing today with one of my new Hanna Stamps sets, and I swear they scream "Paper Piece Me" in fact Days of our Lives started and ended while I was making this card. That tells ya how long it took me to do the card...I am so glad that they are letting Sammi be pregnant on the show this time, when she is pregnant in real life although when they made her a man and a real man played her when she was pregnant all those years ago, that was brilliant.
Stamp Set: Bookworm Clear, Patio Mini Clear, for the inside of the card I used Bugs & Slugs from SU!
Paper: So Saffron, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Watercolor Paper, Washington Apple Designer Series Paper
Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Blush Blossom, Pink Pirouette, Close to Cocoa, Riding Hood Red, Brocade Blue, Creamy Caramel, Going Gray, Summer Sun, I guess I should have listed the colors I did not use, that would have been quicker...ha...continueing on, More Mustard, Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Old Olive
Misc: White gel pen, Riding Hood Red Taffeta I love this stuff Ribbon
Here's a close up of the card, so you can really appreciate all the little details. The lemonade and the plant on the table are from the patio set.
Now if you were to look at the side of my bed you would see a stack of books waiting to be read. Now I am not a chair reader, I am a bed reader, which leads to a bed napper, which is really a bed sleeper, cause I don't nap. My BFF Tracy can take 15 minute power naps, not me. My naps turn into 3 hour sleeps, so I dont usually read during the day unless I have all my work done.
OK, on to the tutorial...baby wipes are not just for baby butts anymore, in fact I bet I have bought more baby wipes since I became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator then when Eric was a baby, we use them in class all the time, and now you have another use for them.
Baby Wipe Spectrum Tutorial
About a year or so ago, Stampin' Up! retired the Spectrum pads, and they were fun pads to use when you stamp with your solid stamps, and you all know how much I love solid stamps...NOT! They made it colorful, but what do we use now? Well this is what we do now...this is a technique we taught at a Stamp & Scrap University a couple years ago.
Supplies Needed: Clear stamp box, or plastic plate will do, classic ink refills, vanilla cardstock, solid stamp, baby wipes, it does not matter unscented or scented, what does matter is that the baby wipe never touched a baby butt.
Step 1: Put the folded baby wipe in the stamp box, or on the plastic plate.
Step 2: Squirt your refill on the baby wipe in a line.
Step 3: Add the rest of your ink refills, I used Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron and Bashful Blue. Leave a bit of a space inbetween the colors.
Step 4: Now ink up your stamp using the baby wipe like an ink pad. Just like using a spectrum pad ink the stamp up and down and just a little bit back and forth that way you will get rid of the white marks between the colors.
Step 5: Stamp your stamp on the paper and...
Step 6: Presto chango abacadabra kalamazoo, look how neat it looks!
Step 7: This is the inside of the card. Look how cute those worms are wiggling along the top of the words.
Now this is a side view, so you can see the greeting inside. And to be honest, I dont put greetings in my cards until I need them, that way I just have to add the greeting right then. In fact I usually use a post it and then the person getting the card, can re-use the
work of art card, and send it to someone else, so they also can enjoy the card.
So Jeff is car-pooling, well he always car-pools with Lee, but now Lee's son Scooter is also working at their work and so Jeff is taking my Nitro cause the three of them don't want to cram into the front seat of Jeff's Ram.
So I had errands to run today, and one of them was going to the grocery store. So while I carefully was driving the big ol' truck the man in front of me was on his cell phone, so one hand was holding the phone and the other hand was flapping around in the air, you know the type, the hand talkers. And this lead me to wonder....yeah you know where this is going....if one hand is on the phone and one hand is flapping around in the air, who or what is steering the car?? Hmmmm....well then he quickly cut in front of all the traffic to turn into Walmart and I realized, his "bad" knee must have been steering the car.
So those of you that have emailed me directly to get my newsletter, I want to thank you, those of you that asked me here, you kinda have to email me at digibbs@stampingwithdi.com cause your email address does not show up here. So Chrystal Netzlaw please send me your email so I can add you.
Thanks so much for stopping in!
Hugs, Di
