Stamping With Di: Beautiful Batik

I told you that I would show you how to do the Beautiful Batik technique after my class, and today was the last class, so here goes. It is fun and easy.

You will need, Shimmery White cardstock (the thinner cardstocks sometimes tear in the ironing stage), embossing buddy, versamark pad, stamps, clear embossing powder, heat gun, water bottle, iron, and scrap paper.

See how easy that was? I need to find the Nike shoe I did in art class using the REAL Batik technique, it looks really cool.

I also promised you that I would show you Jeff's roses. Too funny, I closed my studio door, turned off the phones and told Jeff I was doing a video for my blog tomorrow and he said "you are supposed to show my roses", ha my number one fan, I tell ya!

Here are the rows of roses, and where everyone parks to come to class, they smelled so beautiful the other day.

Wouldn't this long stem beauty be nice cut and given to a wife...huh?

This shows you how big the blooms are. It does not take long for the sun to mess up the edges.

Well that is it for me today, I have a Big Shot class this coming weekend, so I got to get crackin' with that.

It was so beautiful out today I hated to be inside. I did sit out on the back porch a bit and listen to the birds and watch the hummers flying around. But I couldn't stay out long as I was finishing up the last minute details on my Technique Lover's Class that is coming up.

Here's a little guy or gal resting up, as you can see my feeders were almost empty, I had made more syrup this morning, and it was cooling in the kitchen. So by tonight they were buzzing all around, and I took some video but it seems dark when I look at it on the computer, so I don't know if it is worth uploading, I will see if I can't get them during the day, but it seems like about 6pm they come out full force.

Toby was enjoying the sunshine too. The little bugger hates to get his picture taken. If you hold him he is fine, but if he is sitting anywhere, and I get the camera out, he high-tails it into the other room, in fact one day he went off to the guest room and got under the dust ruffle thing and had his head sticking out...crazy dog. But I used my zoom and got him while I sat on the patio...how about that long mustache he is sporting?

I have a technique lover's class coming up, and one of the techniques they are doing is Beautiful Batik and this is the card.

I loved doing Batik in art class in school, but that used wax and material and dies, and so this maybe should be called Faux Batik, but Beautiful Batik sounds better.
