So today Jeff finished the girls new pen, the weather has been gorgeous this weekend so that has helped. Here he is finishing up the roof. We have them totally enclosed so nothing can get them from all angles.
Here it is from this side. You can see the coop fits perfect in there and they can run all the way around it. Jeff took the original door off it so they can go in and out as they want, he also still has that other little small hole that they used to use to go into their side run so they go in and out there too.
Another angle, Jeff put an old saw horse in there if they want to roost on it. He might have to make a ladder to get up to it.
This is a fun picture cause it shows their old side run beside the new one...wow what a difference eh?
Here they are, and I tried to take it through the chicken wire. They are picking on Fiji a bit, but they are just going to have to work it out, at least now there is enough room they can get away from each other. Tonight they are all roosting together so I am hoping all will be well eventually. Jeff is going to run water to the side and put in a leveling water thing so that we don't have to use the plastic water thing. He can have it for the Chuk-lets when he moves them to their pen.
When Jeff is not building chicken yards he is the grill master. He made BBQ ribs for supper. Yum.
Oh and the little chukar that got under the counter...too funny, when Jeff went to open the barn this morning he could hear them making a racket and he was wondering what was going on. That little one that had got loose, had flown up and was pacing back and forth at the brooder trying to help the others escape...ok not really, he was trying to get back in with his syblings, and they were all sqwaking. So after chasing it in the barn and even all the way around the outside of the barn he finally caught it and got it back inside the brooder.
Well this old gal is off to bed. It's after midnight.
I have been getting a bunch of emails asking if I would be doing the new Product Shares again this year and the answer is...Yes!!
Starting June 1, we can order out of the new catalog! I can hardly wait, my wish list grows longer every day!
There are tons of new products I want to share with you, embellishments, ribbons, Designer Series Paper.
I will send out an email with more details (make sure you are on that list - if not you can sign up over in the left hand colomn where it says Sign Up for my Email Newsletter - that is different than the blog feed), but I have to wait for the catalog to go "live".
So make sure you let me know if you are interested, and watch for more information coming soon.
To reach me, you can email me at digibbs@stampingwithdi.com , if the link does not work it is digibbs@stampingwithdi.com
I wanted to show you how big The Chuk-lets are getting, they are two weeks old now.
They sure do like to poop, but I guess when you have 44 of them, there is bound to be some poop. This weekend Jeff and I are going to put half of them in the other brooder to give them more room, that should be interesting since they are starting to fly a bit...cross your fingers half of them don't end up in the yard. One got out today when Jeff was cleaning the cage but he was able to catch it.
When I was coming back from the barn I saw Mr Lizard on the post, his throat was out big but he turned his head when I took the picture.
Reminded me of the one I saw the other day when I came out the back door he went running, he thought he would take a short cut through the chicken coop, he got a little stuck in the the fencing, but Alice was nice and helped him get unstuck...yeah...she ate him. Bet he didn't see that coming.
I have stamp club this weekend and I want the girls to try out some new stuff, so this is one of their make n takes, I cased a card out of the new catalog but I just changed the color and the DSP.
Stamp Set: Layered Labels
Paper: Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Comfort Cafe DSP
Ink: Midnight Muse, Cajun Craze, Pool Party
Misc: Rhinestones, Pool Party Seam Binding, Apothecary Accents Framelits
I love this DSP and you are going to love them all too, makes me love the new In Colors even more.
This is a great time of year to become a Demonstrator because of the new catalog starting. You can join for only $99.00 and you can totally order whatever you want for your kit. What a deal. Plus if you were a Demonstrator before and want to re-join you only have to wait 90 days to join up under another Demonstrator. I would love to have you join my amazing team of Demonstrators, who are all over the US, it's easy and you can do it online through my website. Don't forget about picking a free stamp set as a welcome gift from me for joining my team.
I better get back to cutting paper for this weekend. I have been listening to The Band Perry, wow they are awesome, and they even have the lyrics in their book too. Yay!
Have an awesome Friday and thanks for stopping in.
This morning we went to see The Avengers and it was so good. I am not sure who the next enemy will be. After the movie the guys headed to Home Depot to pick up supplies for the new chicken yard. I am part of a Quarter Frenzy event Tuesday night so I had to pick up a few more things for my table decorations, so I headed off to a couple antique stores.
Here's some of the supplies the guys picked up. Doesn't look like much there, but I am excited to see what Jeff does. When I got up this morning he was at the table with pencil and paper, designing and drawing up plans.
The new yard will be on the other side of the tree so Jeff and Eric were cutting limbs. I think he said it is going to be 12 feet by 26 feet and 8 feet high, that should make them very happy.
While I was taking pictures I thought I would go show you how big the Chuk-lets are getting...not much yet. I think we have lost a total of 6 now. I am not sure when that black band comes on their eyes.
Oh and Jeff found this the other day, it's hard to see but it is a snake track, you can see where it pushes its body to move. Ugh I hate snakes, and unfortunately out in the desert we see one from time to time, as long as it is a "good" snake and I know where it is, I can almost handle it, but if it is poisonous I don't like that.
So did you watch Once Upon a Time? Good eh? Wonder how the next season will start, I didn't like that Evil Queen's smile at the end. I also watched Desperate Housewives series finale and shed a few tears. I also watched (hey it was Mother's Day, I was lazy today) Next Food Network Star, some seemed familiar, I know that the Michele girl was on Chopped before and the dark hair girl looked familiar too. Will have to google about them. I was almost hoping they kicked the guy off at the end cause he just rubs me the wrong way, (I think he is just there to promote his band - he talked about it all the time) but after watching the girls video and she must have said Brother Bill/Bob like 10 times I was like...ugh! send her home.
Well I better hit the hay, since I totally forgot about Next Food Network Star earlier, I had to watch it late tonight.
Have an awesome Monday and thanks for stopping in.
This should get you in the mood for today's post...
...boy wasn't David Cassidy cute?
We got our two day old Chukar Partridges today, the PO called right around 9am and we went and got them. The lady was sad to see/hear them go.
Introducing "The Chuk-lets" appearing...in the barn...ha!
Our first introduction to them. They cheeped all the way home. I put a little video on Facebook on the drive.
Taking off the lid... geesh they were crammed in there. 52 of them...but 2 didn't make it. So sad. Jeff said probably more will die too, it just happens.
Here is Jeff putting them in the brooder, they liked getting out of that box and stretching their long legs. I told Jeff they reminded me of that bad robot on Robocop.
So I go out to see them once in a while, and the temperature has to stay around 95, Jeff says I stress them out by looking at them as they think I am a predator. They will be in the brooder about 6-8 weeks, and he has two brooders so once they get a bit bigger he will split them in half.
I took a little video so you can hear and see how cute they are.
Well I better git off here...I got some chukars to chuk on...ha!
I wanted to post a few more of our Disneyworld pictures, if that is ok. Also the fun video I took of the Roseate Spoonbill and her egg.
Neat eh? How careful she was with it.
On the Goofy Rollercoaster, the seats were so hard that our back bones were killing us after.
There were mice all over our hotel room...do you see it?
Good thing Walt Disney picked something easy enough to make multiples of eh?
Lamp on desk, isn't she cute?
On the back of the chair.
On the bedpost.
On the lamp sconce.
Even on the glass shades in the bathroom.
Even on the mirror frame.
The last night show. The Indiana Jones stage.
Our awesome president Rich, in his Indiana Jones clothes.
Shelli, our awesome co-founder, who never ceases to amaze me.
The stage split in two and slid away, while the director was teaching members of the audience their stunts, they set up the dinner tables in the back.
Here is Scott Nielsen ready for his debut as a man getting shot and then he rolled on the ground and he was hard to kill he staggered up and got shot again, it was too funny.
Here's Gayle Bassett and I. I love her, we are fellow INKredible girls. She was there with her future daughter in law Cera, and everyone kept asking her what grade she was in, cause seriously she looked like she was 16 years old. Too fun.
Final night supper, it was so good. This was Jeff's first plate. They had prime rib and potatoes and gravy so he went up for that later.
My sweetie pie.
Dancing lessons anyone? Seems like Jeff can cut a rug, but can he cut cardstock?
Jeff and a big truck, he was seeing if they left the keys inside. Nope.
Guess he'll have to try another way. Hernia anyone?
Climbing up the invisable ladder to the plane.
Everyone standing around visiting, and waiting in line at the green screens.
We didn't do this show because we didn't get there in time, so not sure if this scenery gets used during the actual show.
Stampin' Up! sure makes us feel special.
The last night's pillow gift was waiting for us when we got back. What could it be?
OMG! a Thomas Kinkade picture, and it is Snow White. So beautiful.
Eric and Jeff sleeping in the airport waiting for our flight home. They must have walked miles and miles the last few days going on all the wild and crazy rides. Thanks Stampin' Up! for one of the best Incentive Trips Ever, it was truly magical.
We'll end the Disneyworld Trip with our balcony view. Not too shabby eh?
OMG! I had to look at yesterday's post to see what day it was. It is like we are in our own little Stampin' Up! bubble.
Today was fun, we did Animal Kingdom and Epcot for a bit. We came back in the late afternoon (I took a naproxen this morning and didn't have any issues with my knee thank goodness) and I stayed at the hotel as we had our share night, and the guys went back to the park, I only saw one hour of American Idol before I left, so I don't have anything to report other than Jessica too little movement too late, I loved Hollie, Phillip & Joshua's duet was horrible. I think I liked Skylar, Phillips song was changed too much, I would not buy his CD.
I am back from share night and it is super late and they are snoring, so I will be quick.
Share night was fun as usual, I love chit chatting with everyone and I love that the executive team, plus Shelli and Rich are there and ask our opinions. I didn't get to see any of the shares cause we might have received something that was taking all our attention away. So this post will be quick, I'll post a few animal pictures.
I love this sign with the animals carved into it. I bet Jeff could do something like this. Couldn't you see this outside my studio. "Di's Stampin' Studio" and then like markers, ink pads, and stamps carved around it.
Jeff and Eric did the safari ride the other day after I went back to the hotel so they wanted me to go on it. Today Jeff said it was up to me what we did...gotta love my guys. It was a cool ride.
Here's a hungry hungry hippo.
Long tall Sally.
Termite hills, they are like cement and I think they said the elephants scratch themselves on them.
This is Rafiki from Lion King...a madrill monkey. I swear we were at like a live Lion King movie...all these animals that were in that movie.
Baby-ish elephant getting an apple out of the water.
This reminded me of the Lion King when they held Simba up.
Look there is Simba sleeping inside, they said they sleep lots of hours a day...I think they said 20 hours. I don't know how they were keeping the animals from eating each other cause we just drove around, and didn't have to stop and open any gates. Disneyworld is just amazing, it is such a place to learn stuff, and I didn't really realize that before, it is not just the fun rides, you are learning at the same time. We did Soarin' today, and that was fun, we also did Captain EO which is an old 3d ride and it had Michael Jackson on it, boy sure was nice seeing him in his young healthy part of life.
Wow another animal, this is a rare Canadian monkey, lives in Arizona. Thank goodness there's only one...ha!
Well I better get off here. Have an awesome Thursday and thanks for stopping in.
Today was so much fun, Ellie invited me to go to lunch with a bunch of the Trilogy ladies, and I have not seen some of them in a while. We went to the Deli of course...yum!!! They had the steak sandwich as the special, it is so good!!! So here is a shout out to: Ellie, Penny, Faye, Laura, Maureen D, Dorothy, Maureen Y & Ruth. It was fun girls, thanks for the invite!! But please next time, do not make me eat the carrot cake, my arm is still sore from you twisting it!! Ha!
I wanted to show the card my Demonstrators got if they were in the Top Ten in sales for the month of February. It uses stuff from the new Summer Smooches special that starts in April. I saw a cute card by Heather Summers (hey girlfriend) and I liked how she colored the flowers.
Stamp Set: Bright Blossoms
Paper: Island Indigo, Real Red, Whisper White, Summer Smooches DSP
Ink: Real Red, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Pool Party
So American Idol, here's my two cents...or whatever it's worth...spoiler alert!!!
Next season the show will be renamed to The Jennifer Lopez show...for pete's sake the first five minutes was about her on a magazine, and her new video coming out and wait we have to break for a commercial, oh and here she is selling clothes at Kohl's, what? where is the car commercial? oh they replaced it with a Qviva commercial. She is beautiful, but it's just all up in our face. I think we need an Ulta commercial for nail polish featuring Steven Tyler, how does he get that black stripe down the center so perfectly?...and a Lens Crafters commercial with Randy selling wild eyeglass frames, and then Crest teeth whitening for Ryan...ha!
So Jeff noticed the group did not sing their group song this week and we wondered if it was cause of Jermaine getting kicked off, cause maybe they practiced with him. He was in the haunted house video for the car though.
So we did not know who the girl was singing, the Demi girl, but Jeff said "do you think those are extensions?" I just laughed that he knew what that was. I told him I was going to get extensions so I could flip my hair all over the place. When Daughtery sang I think his mike stand was way too high and it hid his face, thank goodness he finally took the mike off.
I was surprised with the bottom three, I had Shannon right but was amazed that HeeJun was not there. He is hilarious but not a strong singer, I hope he gets better. I do think that out of the bottom three Elise, Erika (OMG who votes people?????) and Shannon...that Shannon was the one to go home and I am glad they didn't use their one save to save her.
So I wanted to show you the little critter that has made a home on the top of Jeff's bird house. Remember Jeff and our neighbor Jim had a bird house contest a few years ago and my class ladies picked the winner? Well Jeff put his house outside (Jim's is on a pedestal in his house). There are birds nests inside it and this year a dove has made a nest on top of it. At least the nest is secure pretty much. Although we are supposed to have a bad storm this weekend.
It has been getting lost of weathering happening to it. Bits and pieces have fallen off, like pretty much most of the "lawn" decorations.
See the dove on there? She blends right in with the roof.
So tonight I went out to see if there were any eggs, and she flew off as I walked up to it, and looks what was in there.
A little rabbit! OK not really, made you look closer though didn't I? Its a litte dove. I used my zoom and it is high so I took as good a picture as I could without touching the house. She flew back on there when I left, so I really hope they will be ok this weekend.
So remember Jeff was making a quail coop?
Well it's almost all done.
I was all set with my name for them, they were gonna be called The Chicklets, but now he has changed his mind and he is going to get Chukars instead, so they will be called The Chuklets, not as cute but oh well, like they will care right?
So are you saying what the heck is a Chukar? I know I did. Well they are a type of partridge, and Jeff said a bigger bird and better eating.
Look how cute they are, they have very neat markings, it's like they have a mask on or something, I told Jeff I don't know if I will be able to eat them cause they look so cute, and what if they are all friendly and sweet? He has 50 of them ordered, and they get here in May. I told him if they peck me when I collect their eggs maybe then I can eat them, but if they are all tweet tweet sweet, I just don't know.
Speaking of cute and animals, check this out...
I love how she was bringing stuff to the cat.
Well this old gal has to get some sleep.
Have an awesome Friday and thanks for stopping in.

"Thanks for the video. Have been wanting to do this and once again...you have inspired me. :)" - Gladys
"Thank you so very much for continuing to show samples and "how to" instructions and videos of your fantastic and creative projects. I can't even express how much it is appreciated." - Kim
"You totally crack me up girl. I love you, and we have never met." - Wilma
"If I wasn't a demonstrator already, I'd be joining your team. :) Thanks for always sharing your ideas and excitement for SU! My upline quit several years ago, so I've been blessed to have sideline sisters that help and encourage. Convention was a blast... like a bunch of crazy family getting together for a reunion! now I'm going to "go, go, go"... LOL" - Shelly
"I highly recommend this tutorial. I have dabbled with water coloring and didn't think I was too bad at it, but this tutorial has a number of helpful tips in it that immediately helped improve my technique. Even with the low price, I was apprehensive to purchase it because I felt a video was needed. You have managed to do it with a very reasonably-priced PDF. I am sorry I didn't purchase it sooner." - Dorrie
