Look what Jeff found on the ground as he was getting his hunting stuff out of the trailer. It is a baby dove. He found the horribly constructed nest up in the tree, and he went to put him back in, but he flew back down to the ground under a bush, so I looked on line and since he has all his feathers, it said that the Mum was probably watching him and he will be ok. I hope so, we love the doves in the yard, and I had never seen a baby one before. His furry little head was so cute. He looks so tiny in Jeff's hand, but the angle of the camera made Jeff's hand look humongous.
So the girls so far have loved the projects they are making with the Distressing Essentials Kit. Here is all the projects from class.
The Motorcycle card I showed you yesterday, a little owl notebook, and a decorated letter so they could put it on their bag the kit came in.
Here is the little notebook, I picked these up at a big box store, we covered them with the Love Letter DSP and some of the new Crochet Trim ribbon, we distressed the edges of the book as well as the spine. We punched up an adorable little owl and how cute is this? I didn't decorate it anymore as I did not know what they would put in the book, I think it would be cute on your desk to keep those blasted passwords in.
Here is the owl up close and personal...
I think he's a little P.O'd that the dove got his picture on the post first.
Here is the initial, everyone got their own initial and I used the Bigz Die Alphabet Serif Essentials to cut out the chipboard and covered it with the Love Letter DSP, and used the Tea Stain distressing ink on the edges. We used the little flower punch from Boho Blossoms, as well as the small flower punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. We added some distressing ink, and wet them and curled them up. We used the 1/2" circle punch to make the leaves, stuck a More Mustard brad in the center, tied on some black taffeta, and stuck a fork in it and said "it's done!" I attached it to the little clear tote with glue dots.
Did you know I travel (well within the State lines..ha!) with my classes? Yep, if you can get enough people to take the class, I will bring the class to you. Don't have a big enough place? You can have a private class in my studio. Give me a shout if either of these ideas sound good. I would love to teach a class to you and your friends.
Well this old girl is headed to bed. I have another round of the Distressing Essentials kit in the morning, and then my good friend Melissa (hey Mel) is going to take me camera shopping. She is a pro, and I need all the help I can get.
Have a blessed Sunday and thanks so much for stopping in!
