On the cruise Stampin' Up! had a "Trading Post" room, that was where we spun the wheel every day, and guessed how many items were in a bag, where they had us pick up our claim prizes, they even had a man corner with True Grit playing. They had kids toys and even a big old tub of buttons the kids could "pan for gold" in...well they were actually panning for red buttons.

The last night on our bed we got a paper sack full of buttons (I am assuming these were buttons from said tub)...hmmmm...I think I'll be washing mine first.  I did just say that for 7 days kids panned their fingers and whatever were on their fingers through these buttons...don't think I'm being silly, I had a little boy and I know how his hands looked half the time so now you are saying, "thank you Diana for washing the buttons that we will use at class".  You are so very welcome.

There were also displays of cards, and 3-d items as well as demonstration stuff in there, so I took a bunch of pictures so I could case, tweak you know all that kinda fun stuff. One card that I totally loved was this one, I did tweak it a little, the original had glitter on it and some butterflies, please look on the left side colomn under "Di"ctionary for what the word tweak means on my blog, seems it means different things elsewhere.  Well not here people, it is a good word here!

Anyway back to the card, what do you think? Pretty eh?  I don't know who did it as it was hung on the board, but thanks I love it.

Love & Care

So when we got the new Summer mini catalog in our Stampin' Success magazine I drooled over this new hostess set and then I was a lucky girl and actually earned it for free.  You are definitely going to want to book a workshop or gather orders from family and friends to earn this one.  I hear ya, "but it's not a coloring set?" I know those are usually my favorite, but look at it...gorgeous.

I have my club girls coming over tomorrow so I wanted them to get their hands on this new set so they fall in love with it just like me.  One of my new favorite Demonstrators to case is Teneale Williams and she is from Australia so I bet she has a cute accent to go with her gorgeous stamping. Thanks Teneale for your inspiration!

Look what I did today...

I used to get my nails done all the time with a french manicure and then I think I stopped a couple years ago and just polished them wild and crazy once in a while, but working on cards I had to be so careful that I did not get polish on the cards, so MAMMa always has her nails so beautiful, and with the cruise coming up I thought, I'm gonna do it. So off I went to Selena where MAMMa gets hers done, and I love them, I have to get used to them again, typing, stamping and right now that odd feeling they have with brand new nails on, but they look so clean and neat. What ya think? I think boy oh boy my hands sure look old and my pointer fingers are started to go crooked a bit. Ugh! My flip off finger is nice and straight hmmm...maybe it gets more exersise or something...ha! Just kidding.

Have you read the Laurel K Hamilton Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series?  They are taking a bit to get into. They sure aren't the Black Dagger Brotherhood or Twilight.  In fact if when I get this one done if it does not leave me wanting more, I may shelve the series till later. I have so many more to read and in fact am reading one on my new Nook (that I still have not named) that I am really enjoying.

Well I got some paper to cut, so I am going to say "hasta la vista, baby"

Play Date Birthday

 

This is the last card that I made to go with the Birthday Bakery stamp set.  Wanna know what I made them for? Promise not to tell? OK. Shhh... it's one of the door prizes for our September to Remember event.  People that come to the event make swap cards to swap that day, and they need to make one that they hand in and that is their door prize ticket, and this is what they will win.

Someone will get the set and the three cards. Fun eh? Since I won't be there, Rhonda and MAMMa said I was in charge of doing this door prize. Gee stamping and coloring, what a punishment eh? ha! So anyway, I hope whoever wins it will like the cards, but don't tell, it's a surprise. 

Today Rhonda and I headed over to MAMMa's for the last time to get all the bags loaded and ready for next weekend.  I do have to run my punches and stamps and stuff over to MAMMa's tomorrow so they have it there to use that day, and then it's off to pedicure and manicure, and a shopping trip with my friend Sharon on Tuesday, and packing, and then OMG! Wednesday morning off to St. George Utah for Founder's Circle I go, I can't believe it is almost here.  Three more sleeps!  I will totally post from there and Twitter and Facebook too, I won't be able to post pictures on my blog till I get back home, but I can post pictures on Facebook.

This Is It

So as I did up my swap for Robin, I did my Queen Bee card, I had on Micheal Jackson's This is It.  Wow it was amazing, I could hardly take my eyes off it, so it took me longer then it should have to do the swap cards.  That would have been quite the live show.  I loved the chick that played the guitar, she was incredible, that would be fun to do (in my next lifetime).  If you get a chance to watch it, you should.  I am so glad that they filmed all these practices and stuff, it is nice to see Micheal Jackson doing what he loved, and boy he still could move, and he looked like he was really having a blast.

I also saw a commercial today that made me smile.  It is for True Beauty and it shows a Down Syndrome girl being crowned the Queen at prom, and all the kids cheering and it reminded me of when Eric was in high school and he was on the football team.  

At the end of the year, Eric's teacher called us and said to make sure we came to the awards ceremony cause Eric was going to get an award.  I figured they were going to make up an award...not in a mean way but Eric did not play tons of times, and a lot of times he played in this other extra quarter, so that all the kids on the team got a chance. I loved that.  They even let Eric run with the ball and get a touchdown twice, and he ran like the bionic man, that kid could move.  Too funny they had been practicing this and Eric did not even tell us.  In fact Jeff was at the game and was screaming and hollering as Eric ran with the ball, and the coach said later "come back next week, we're gonna do it again!"   

I don't really know much sports stuff, never really was into them in school either.  So anyway, the coach got up and talked about the next award and how hard the player played, did his best and all that, and then he said Eric got the Player's Choice award, and Jeff and I were in tears, and Jeff was like "that is a real award".  Jeff had to explain later that it was his team mates that vote or decide who got the award and they gave it to Eric.  It was nice afterwards seeing all the players coming up to Eric and patting him on the back and congratulating him.  It made all those times when kids weren't so nice to him fade away, and realize kids will be kids, and when they grew up and matured they were all pretty cool. 

One of the things I like to do is make a card right out of the catalog.  I tweaked this one a bit cause I wanted to color the hydrangea.  I think this might be one of my favorite new sets.  I love the sets with all the details. Don't forget you can get it for free if you sign up to be a Demonstrator before the end of the month.  When you order the new color kit it comes with it.  Neat eh?

Well Jeff and I watched Leverage, and it was so great, and I just finished watching True Blood, I did not realize how tall and lanky Eric was...what a handsome guy, no wonder my girlfriend Mandy loves him.

It's the Thought...

...that you should have got the shoes when you saw them the first time.  I saw and tried on these sandals like a month ago, they were so cute, and comfortable, and MAMMa said they were "me". But I didn't get them, but I have been thinking about them (my OCD working overtime) and boring my friends about them, so today I thought the heck with it, I am going to go get them on my way to town.  I called the store first to make sure they still had them, and of course they only had the brown and not the black, but they could have the black sent from another store. My shoe size is common and I swear when it is about the time for shoes to be running out, my size is it.

 So I said put the brown aside and I would come walk around with them on a bit longer to see if I really liked them.  So I got there, and they were red brown, not brown, so they would not go with anything I had.  So I said if they could get the black that would be better.  So my sweetie girlfriend Melissa (Mel for short) - Hey honey!!! met me at the store, (ya gotta shop in pairs) and you know we looked all over for a pair of brown in anything...well anything I liked...I am kinda picky, and none of the colors were a real brown, so I didn't get any.  I will wait till they call me next week.  Mel and I want to wear sexy shoes for the Eclipse premier, cause we are...um...nuts!

So I weighed myself this morning. 130.8...geesh slowwwww but sure I guess. My sister Jacqui says its cause I am older and the weight does not come off as fast, and this makes me realize why I hate to weigh myself, my clothes are looser, and my gut overhang is a bit smaller so it is working but it seems like the weight should be lower, but I'm keep on keeping on.

So I did up a quick card tonight after we watched Ink Heart, we never did watch a movie last night, I fiddled farted around too much and then it got too late.

 I love this little hostess set.

Lovin' the Poppy

I love all the new colors, but I think that a few will be my go to colors, although like anything new I want to use it all. and I don't want to use the "old stuff" - ha!  The new "In Color" Poppy (my finger wants to spell Poppa - sigh) Parade.  It goes nice with Tangerine Tango, and it is a nice happy red.

I got most of my display stamping done today, I just have a few more things to do and then I can get it in the mail.

Not sure if this one shows the Smooch Spritz better.  I never know whether to take a picture of the card on the angle or front on.  So there ya go...you got both ways.  To age the DSP, I first rubbed it with the Daffodil Delight pad and then I added More Mustard to the edges.

Take a Moment

Rhonda and I met today, we did a little bit of shopping and then we had lunch and talked about our upcoming event in September.  We have so many ideas swirling around in our heads.  So I got a little card to show you today, plus I wanted to re-use the polka dotted ribbon from my card yesterday, nothing goes to waste.

Misc: White watercolor pencil as a highlight on cherries, it is very subtle in the picture, Real Red Taffeta

So here is yesterday's card with the White Taffeta, it looks much better and the picture turned out a bit better, I probably need to get a better way of taking pictures.

So I had Hell's Kitchen on tonight, boy oh boy the F-bomb flies on that show eh?  How do they pick the people that sits in the crowd to eat?  Also what drives me nuts is most of the wanna be Chefs all smoke, so when they are chatting it up afterwards there is cigarette smoke all around them.  Blech!  It just does not seem very appetizing.  I remembered one day I stopped at Sonic before my pedicure and a guy came out of the pizza place wearing an apron to have a smoke in the parking lot, and I had to hope he washed up before he went back to work.
