Today my sweet friend and upline Rhonda came over and we got a lot more of Fall Fest stuff done, it is funny we get going and think we are almost done, and then we are like oh wait we still have to cut this DSP and Big Shot this. My little hospital stay messed up my schedule that is for sure. We want to get it all done by Thursday so Friday, the day before the event, we won't be stressed.

I will start showing you Fall Fest stuff soon ok?

But today I wanted to show you the other card the girls will do tomorrow at Trilogy, I love going there and they are all so fun, and sweet.

I looked around on the internet and found this beautiful card, I love embossed whisper white cardstock, it looks so elegant and this card aims to please. I cased Carrie Rhoades, and just changed the greeting and added the mustard flower instead of the button on her card, but it really is her card, I love it, thanks Carrie!

So I have my Nook right? I love it, I don't even want to pick up any of the paper books sitting on my night table, but what irks me is one of the books I just finished on my Nook is a Trilogy, well book one is Nook-able, and book three is too, but the second book in the series is not, and I am like what? Are you kidding me?  So I googled and I did find it but it is not through Barnes and Noble, I don't understand why it is not available through there cause obviously it was made for an e-reader. So the other day I got it on my computer from another online place and then yesterday my sister Jax and my girlfriend Mel told me how to put it on my Nook, and it worked and I was so happy.  Then I continued on with my day as normal. 

So last night I get in bed about 11:30pm or so and go to turn on my Nook, and nothing, nada, zip. I thought oh well maybe I left it on when I loaded the book, so I went out to my studio to get the charger and then plugged it in, I pushed the button and then it said it was installing updated something or other, then it rebooted, and then it said I had to register my Nook, and I am like what? It's already registered. Then it wanted me to add my wifi information, and I was freaking out.  Somehow it was totally back to like I just bought the danged thing.

Once I put in the wifi code (that is a pain in the butt) it connected to Barnes and Noble and it showed the books I have in my B&N library, the e-pub one that I had put on that day was not there.  But I have to download them all again, AND it does not remember that they were read.  So I am not sure if I did something wrong or what, but I ain't doing it again, it was a pain doing all that over, and it still is not totally back to how it was before. Crazy!!

Ok that's enough of my blabbering for today, I gotta get my totes packed for tomorrow morning, Jeff told me my truck needs gas.  I haven't driven anywhere since I got home from the hospital.

Was That My Eyeball Floating By?

I was told by the Doc to add more fiber to my diet (just use your imagination as to why) and also drink more water.

Now I am drinking so much water that my toes are starting to web, and my eyes are floating. I also go potty every half hour. Thank goodness I work at home and can pee without scheduling it in or waiting for my break.  How do people do it that cashier at a grocery store or work in a toll booth?  Do they wear a pee bag?

I did go back for a follow up check up today and there are still some issues, so I have to have blood drawn to check on my kidney functions.  She also pressed around on my belly and ouch it hurt near my appendix so she said to keep an eye on that. She said it was not related to my other issues.  Sucks to get old eh? Perhaps it was that I started back on my pilates today, maybe it was my muscles...ha!

As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I get a magazine every month from Stampin' Up! called Stampin' Success and there was the cutest card on the cover and I wanted to make it for my Stamp Club girls, I did tweak it a bit and I hope they like it.

Tonight I watched Harry Potter, the Deathly Hallows Part One, and it was pretty good, I think I saw the one before it.  Was there a fire in the fields, and Dumbledoore was in a boat in the water with bodies floating?  I really would love to have a weekend where I watch them all, cause I do forget some of them.  I did think that the girl that played Hermoine looked so thin.  I would love to have her purse though that is like the tiniest thing but is totally bottomless, she had everything in there. They have all grown up so much, and Ron with the deep voice now.

Well enough of that, I am going to head to bed, I am reading a new book on my Nook called "13 Little Blue Envelopes" and it is pretty good.  It was one of the Free Friday books at Barnes and Noble.  I usually try to remember to check them out to see if they might be something I want to read.

The Passage

I wish I could remember who told me to read "The Passage" my memory is horrible, if it was YOU...thank you so much, I am really enjoying it, and even more so since it is on my Nook.  In fact, I am enjoying it too much as I am not getting some housework done, so I am looking forward to the plane ride to Seattle...unless I get it done before then.  It reminds me a bit of Stephen King's writing.

I wanted to show you the last little ATC card I have done, I will wait for the new catalog to finish the rest I am thinking.  I think this was based on a card by Kimberly Van Diepen. It was a picture I had in my stash that I wanted to copy and now I can't find it.

So if you did not see American Idol, please stop reading.  I will be quick with my critiquing tonight cause my danged old wisdom (of which I have none) teeth are acting up so I wanna take some advil and go to bed.

So can you believe it is the Top Four already? OMG! That means next week will be Top Three and the next week we'll be cruising and we better somehow be able to see the finals.  I was telling a friend and fellow Demonstrator Kelly, that I will be the one carrying on a TV with a longggg cable cord so I don't miss it.  MAMMa said she would tape it for me though.

So James started out the show and was amazing as usual.  He started last week off too, not sure what that means other then he is the best.  

Haley sang next and I did not like it at all, this is too late in the competition to be doing that kind of song, I know they were to sing songs that mean stuff to them, but I think there could have been another one.  Another song that we are like what the heck kinda artist is she going to be, all the others know what style they want to be, not Haley. I agree with the judges, they did not like it at all, and were very harsh with her, but I really think she did not come on the show to be an American Idol, I just think she wanted to get to Hollywood, I see her as an actress, not a singer. I hope she goes home.

Scotty sang a beautiful song that had me in tears and I loved how he changed up the melody a bit. 

Lauren was beautiful and I loved the dress, and I think James might have stepped on it at the beginning when they all came on stage. She sang top notch.

So this week they had Lady Gaga as the one giving them tips, and this just floors me cause she is so wild.  I mean she does have a few songs with some catchy tunes, that once you hear them you keep them going in your head...like one is now...ra-na-na-na  or something...anyway, she had her hair like a skunk and these pointy things in her cheeks and makeup like a football player. 

She gave them all great tips though, and I loved her comment that when she was 16 she was such a freak that American Idol would not have had her on there...or something like that.

Haley sang and she did much better on her second song, I guess you really need to tick her off to make her do her best, cause boy if looks could kill she was giving some evil eyes to the judges.  So I think all their saying she was bad is either gonna hurt or make people vote for her more.  I still say I hope she goes home.

Scotty sang an odd song for his second song, and you could tell he had a great time, but it just seems almost like he figures he is safe so I don't think this was a great song to do. I don't know that's just me. He did kiss his cross though after meeting Lady Gaga. I think she scared him. I have said that Scotty reminds me of Howdee Doodee, President Bush, and the Mad Magazine Alfred E Neuman if they all had a kid that is what he would look like, so I said that again to Jeff and he said, "well gee hun, you just described things American"

Lauren sang an Elvis song with evil in the lyrics and she was worried about saying that cause she is not evil, so then Lady Gaga told her basically to get in the role and just act the part, and she did a great job, and totally seemed more then her age when she sang it.

James closed out the show...hmmmm....he opened and closed....hmmm....what does that mean?  I say he is the winner, and he is amazing and the song was so good and it was Love Potion #9 and he made it cool. I love at the end how he went silent and then looked around and we were almost like begging him to finish and then he did...what a star!

So I voted for James, of course (a couple times) and I also voted once for Lauren and once for Scotty, cause I really want them to stay.  I think the bottom two are going to be Scotty and James though. If only I had a crystal ball...

 

Well that is it for me tonight, I am hitting the hay!

Almost 2 Million Hits

Can you believe it?  Holy Moly! It just seems like not that long ago I hit 1 million! Thanks so much everyone for reading my blog and sticking with my silliness and not so great lingo and and spelling and grammar and my wordage...in fact I got an email from Lorree, and she asked if I knew what Nookie was, and I thought well its like smooching, the serious kind, and so I looked it up and well I guess it means a bit more then smooching, well it probably starts out as smooching...unless you got a big old cold sore like me...ugh! I can name it, it is that big...I'm gonna call it "not tonight honey!"  So anyway back to Nookie, so I guess I'll just call my Nook by it's regular name on my blog, and use my little pet name for it in my head.  Cause I could totally see someone new reading my blog and going "What!!????"  Lorree and I did get a laugh about it though.

So American Idol folks, are you ready? If you didn't see it, please stop reading.

Tonight it is the Top 5 and they sang two songs. Their mentor this week was Sheryl Crow

They started out with my favorite James: So I did not know the first song that he sang but he did a great job and I loved how he interacted with the audience and he totally is so comfortable performing and is such a natural.  You know it makes me thankful for this show cause maybe James would never have been discovered...well eventually he would have but now we all love him.

Then it was Jacob: I did not like this at all, and I didn't like his dancing, I agreed with the judges.  

OK what was up with J-Lo's hair? It looked like she just got out of bed, threw her hair up in a bun or something, made a toilet paper flower and stuck it in her hair, this was not a good look for her, come on she is like the most beautiful woman in the world right? This proves just cause you are "that" does not mean you can wear stuff like "this". Just sayin'.

Lauren was up next and she kicked butt on a Carrie Underwood song, she was amazing and she looked so sexy with those high boots on and I loved the shirt cause it really made her look skinny.

Scotty: He totally had a blast tonight, and he is so much more comfortable on stage.

Haley: So she sang an unreleased song of Lady Gaga (I guess she sings it in her concerts - I don't know if it is the one that she fell off the piano on or what) - anyway Haley got her blessing so she sang it and you know what? MAMMa are you sitting down?  This was the first song that I really liked Haley on, she did a great job...and the judges hated it...hmmm...

Then James sang again, and OMG please just give him the title now so I don't miss it.  He sang a beautiful song and when he was practicing it, he had to stop cause it reminded him of his wife and son, so I was sending him strength through the TV and he did so good, we were all crying by the end.  He is amazing.

Then it was Jacob again:  So at first it seemed like he was going too fast for the harp, and he messed up in the middle, and well I say he is going home.

Then Lauren sang a song for her Mum and Dad, and this was my least favorite song that she has sang in my opinion, I wonder if she just would have sang it without the piano and stuff it would have been better, but the song meant a lot to her and the judges liked it.

Scotty was up again, and boy I loved this one, and come on MAMMa you had to like this one right?  I mean it was so romantic, and if this old lower lip wasn't big enough to land a plane on, I might have danced with my hubby for it.

Haley ended the show, and she did pretty good on that one too.  

I am not picking bottom three cause since there are 5 of them, I can't remember if they do that anymore.  

So I usually vote for three people but tonight I only voted for one, and that is the winner in my heart and I hope in everyone's heart - James Durbin

I can't wait for tomorrow night, Lady Antebellum is going to sing...oh and nasty hair J-Lo.

I am a Stamper...

...not a photographer or flower arranger.

My hubby has the most beautiful rose bushes, he is so proud of them and everyone comments about them when they come for class, especially now when they are blooming and smelling so nice.

At class Connie said she could not believe I didn't have roses cut in vases all over the house, and I said I was waiting for Jeff to cut me some. So this morning I thought to heck with it, I ain't waiting, so I took out my scissors and got me some. After quite a few pricks and pokes I filled up a little vase thingie with holes in it so the flowers sit up.

Pretty eh?  I also think that thing I bought at Tracy's last year might be one of these too, so tomorrow I am going out to cut more and do another vase.

I took some pictures outside, and they turned out not too bad, I still leave my big girl camera on auto cause I am still not too sure of all the bells and whistles on it.

Jeff and Eric built this arbor thing for his climbing rose a couple weekends ago. Not sure what is in the sky, I think it might be a UFO. ET phone home!

I like this one cause I leaned down and got the wood fence, plus the sky, look how blue it is.

Lots of pink roses, I sure wish there was scratch and sniff for the computer, the smell is amazing.

I like this angle too.

Jeff also has these other type of roses on the other side of the yard and they are smaller and almost like mums.

So today was fun, I met Melissa (my enabler - I told her I would put that over in my "Di"ctionary so people knew who I meant.) We were telling the Barnes and Noble sales girl, and she was adorable and so helpful and so funny.

I was looking for winter boots for Alaska, cause living in Arizona, I don't have any, I thought maybe I would get a great deal on a pair, and there were none (that I liked) to be found, so I think fate is saying, cowboy boots will be plenty.

Then we went to Liberty Market for lunch, OMG! delicious, and I ate too much! Then we headed over to Barnes and Noble so I could go Nook shopping. Mel has one so she gave me great advice.

 A cute jacket for my new toy, the Jack Spade stuff was 75% off so this was a great deal.  We were not sure who Jack Spade is, but I think he is the character that Johnny Depp played on Pirates of the Carribean, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Yo-ho-ho Matey! Walk the plank and shiver me timbers!

Here's my girl (I'm trying to think of a good name for her? Any suggestions?) She's all loaded with a few books. Yes, the Twilight Saga series...of course. I need to read up on the instructions as I am not sure how to do all the features. Oh and I tried playing Sudoko, what is easier then easy? Cause I was not having any luck. I hate math stuff, it makes me want to cry, my brain doesn't work well with numbers.

Well I better get crackin'! I didn't get much done today work wise, it was so nice, I needed a break. I told myself I need to have one day a week that is a me day, so today was it. Is that bad? Huh honey? Since Jeff reads my blog in the morning...ha!
