Owl Punch Fun

 

I love the new Two Step Owl punch, and am so excited that we have the best punches around.I am having an owl punch class in October and everyone coming to class will get their own punch and we will make three projects. A few of my regular class girls are not able to come to the class in October and they asked if they got together a few of their friends if I would bring a private class to them, and I said sure!  So Friday I have a private Owl class at Lisa's house and there will be 9 girls there.

This is one of the cards they will be doing, I got the idea from Laurie Froehlich, I had to totally find where I found this card, I had just printed it out and it had no watermark, so I finally found it and I did my inside different, but oh well.  I still love it. Thanks Laurie.

So speaking of birds...wanna see my girls? My Gnomes? I probably should stop calling them the Gnomes eh? Cause you know what they are now. They are getting bigger eh? Must be all those eggs they are holding inside...ha!

 Here they are eating their treat. They love brown rice, I also gave them some green beans too.  The platter is plastic and it's like a typewriter hearing them peck at the rice.

Still no eggs, but they sure know who feeds them. I just walk out the back door and they are cooing at me. I think they would really like to be out of their pen too, but I would worry that they would get hurt.  We have almost three acres, but the front drive way is not fenced all the way in, and sometimes stray dogs, or the neighbors dog comes in and I would be sick if anything happened to them.  I told Jeff if he makes a fenced in area around the pen, and clips their wings then and maybe then I would let them out, but still what stops something from jumping in to get them? This way I know they are protected.

So the other day I got my videos and tapes of the convention classes and also demonstrator theater, I had no idea this would be on there.  When I demoed at Regionals they did not give us a tape of that.  So I was surprised when Dianne (Hi girlfriend) emailed me and said she saw me on her convention tape. So it came yesterday and Jeff and I sat down to watch it. I had no idea which one they would show, cause I did it like 6 times.  Well I'll be darned if they didn't tape the "we don't sell water" demo.  Let me explain.  One of the techniques I showed was Ink Wash Faux Embossing, where you ink up the paper with a sponge, then inking up the stamp (I used the medallion) with versamark, then spray it with the Stampin' Mist, then lay the inked paper on top of the stamp, and the ink kinda pulls off the paper. Well someone yelled out "can you use water?" and I very seriously (ok, kinda seriously) said "but we don't sell water, we sell Stampin' Mist", well that got a laugh.  But really I had not tried water, and I think the mist is necessary cause of the tackiness of it, I mean I don't know. But anyway, after I said that I must have made 20 different faces, so the person was not mad at me for saying that, and in fact one part I made this one face and Jeff said "did you just have three chins?". Well I said something to him, you can imagine what it was...ha! But anyway, I am very glad that Jeff got to see me in action, and he said he was proud of me, and then I forgave him the chin comment.

Well I have to get up early tomorrow, I gotta go get the old dyed out of my hair. So I am gonna say night night!

Stinkin' Cute Punch Bee Tutorial

Well I had to do it twice, cause the first time I went over by like 5 seconds I think...ha!  Now I have a timer, so this won't happen again. In fact I was making the video and didn't have the TV on, so I totally missed the USA and Canada Hockey game.  Connie called me (thanks girlfriend), so I at least saw the awards ceremony.

You Got the Cutest Little...

...Baby Face!

The other night I went to class at MAMMa's, I had so much fun, I went to dinner first with my dear friend and downline Teri who I have known for 20 years, and then we headed over to class, and found Debbie, another one of my downline there too, I met some new girls too and we had a blast...chattin' up Twilight and Edward and Trueblood, all that fun vampire stuff.

To top it off we did the cutest cards, I will show you the other ones in the next couple days.

I was like gee what one do I show you first?  I think this was my favorite one.  I had not made one of these baby bundles before, I had seen them on Andrea Walford's blog, she has such fun punch ideas.

So when I was over at MAMMa's and saw that we were gonna do a baby bundle, I was so excited and I was like sign me up.

Punch Book & Artisan Award Invite...

...I think the one question that I get emailed me most is, where is...? like where is the faux wood grain tutorial, where is the paper piecing card, and where is the punch book etc.?  So off to the right are categories, and under that list what I will categorize things in my blog post.  Now when I first started blogging I had no idea what I was doing and all these nifty little things, so you may find that things are missing...then holler at me and I will find it and categorize it.

So in 2007 I did a punch book class, this class was very popular, here is my original post, and what I did was put the class pages on my blog so everyone could see them and get ideas, and well copy them, I mean if we didn't want to be copied we wouldn't post right?  What I usually think is blogger etiquette, is if you post something on your blog you really need to give credit, and I do that, and if I ever miss anyone, I want to be told so I can fix it.  I did that recently when I had no idea what the technique was called that Patty Bennett had a tutorial on her blog for, later I found out the proper name and I fixed it, heck we are all human.

So I took this punch book with me on cruise to share and everyone enjoyed seeing it.  So to make a long story short, I have added a Photo Album on the right where you can see the pages a lot easier.  It is labeled of course Punch Book.  A few of you have asked why I don't do more punch critters etc., well I just might have to and add them to my book as I go. There are some talented girls out there thinking outside of the box punch.

So a couple weeks ago I got my hand stamped card inviting me to the Artisan Award dinner while we are in Salt Lake City during Convention. It does not say who stamped it so I am gonna pretend Shelli made it.

Aren't they beautiful?  Well I can't show you the actual catalog...but the boxes sure are pretty!

Let's Get Punchy!

  So about 6 months or more ago I did a punch class.  One of my fellow Demonstrator friends, (Hi Kimberly!) kept showing these fun ideas for using our punches to make all sorts of things. I used some of her ideas, and used ones from SCS, and also came up with some on my own.

I wanted to offer it as a class for my customers and I am totally a visual person, someone can be explaining something to me on the phone and I just kinda pretend I know what they are talking about, a lot of "uh uh, oh yeah, hmmm", comes out of my mouth but my brain does not work that way, and is really saying "what the ??". I have to see it to understand, and grasp what is being said.

So because my brain works like that I assume a lot of other people's brains work like that too, and that is why I designed the class to make a reference book. Basically the punch pieces on the top, make the bottom finished piece.

The class attendees (one even drove from Arkansas for the class - Hi Christa) made the following book at class.  It took FOREVER, but it was so worth it.  Don't you think?  Go get some coffee and come back, there are 21 different punch do-hickeys to look at, and I apologize for the pictures, but I think you can figure them out.
