Molly is Looking For New Design Team Members - Is it You?

Have you thought about being on a Design Team?  It is a lot of fun, and you get to meet some great people while having fun creating.  So why not try out?  Molly Stamps is looking for two new designers, it would be great to have you join the Molly Stamps family.

How can you join the Molly Stamps Design Team? Follow these simple steps:

1) Submit 3 cards, via email, that show your particular style. Submissions should be sent to [email protected].

2) Include your blog address in the email.

3) Tell us why you would like to join the team.

It's that simple. The deadline is October 20th. With submissions being closed at 5pm on Monday, October 20. The new Design Team members will be chosen on Friday, October 24th.

The winners will be posted on the Molly Stamps site by 5pm that Friday.

Finished card copySo speaking of Molly, look at this chick. She is from the Paper Doll Set.   Now my sister said she kinda looks like me...so that's why I put boots on her, that hides the ringworm scar on the leg....blech!

She is saying 2 - as in 2 new Design Members are needed!!

The set does come with glasses, but I want to pretend I don't need glasses, trifocals at that. This is the young hip Di.

Also notice the dirt and the sky, no green trees or grass, yeah ya gotta love Arizona.

In a month I'll be lovin' Arizona when the weather cools off, and I can turn the A/C off.

I'll really be lovin' it in 2 months when ya'll be shoveling yerselves outta the snow!

2 year old blog pic copy Now this is the real me a few years back, also saying two! I think that is how old I was at the time.

It's hard to tell but there is a big walking doll behind me on the table (this picture was cropped-so it is hard to see) but I still have this doll, and it stands in the guest closet. You should see Toby bark at it! Ha!

I also think the dress I am wearing is really the dress that the doll came with. If my memory serves me correctly.

I must have had a case of ringworm here too, look at them tights...well maybe they should be called loose - look at them sag!

OK, I gotta get off here, I got me some bonus cards to get stamped up to get in the mail tomorrow.

Have a super Tuesday and thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

I Am Not a Lazy Stamper...

...and how can ya tell? Cause my house is a mess! Ha!Ha! At least that is what this card says.

Hanna does the cleaning 013 copy I love Hanna Stamps because they have fun little pieces that go with their sets, which make cards like this one so much fun to make.

Stamp Set: Domestic Goddess

Paper: Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Watercolor Paper, Maine Blueberry Designer Series Paper

Ink: Palette Hybrid Noir, Blush Blossom, Really Rust, Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, Regal Rose, Basic Gray, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, Bashful Blue

Misc: Pennant Big Shot Die for scallop edge, White gel pen, Beer Bottle Tops

Hanna does the cleaning 008 copy

Don't these look so cool? They are just Beer bottle tops (they have to be new un-used ones), and I just put them on my Big Shot, and squished them - added to post: I had to find the blog I learned how to squish them on and here it is Julie Ebersole

The 1" circle punch is perfect to go inside.

They are such a nice "pop" on a card, don't ya think?

I hope you enjoyed my Hanna card. I have a few more sets on order, so watch for some more cards in the near future.

I just wish I looked as cute when I vacuumed as Hanna does.

Have a great Monday and thanks for stopping in!

Another One Bites the Dust!

I think that was what Rhonda said as we hugged good-bye and patted each other on the back for another event over and done with.

Today was our first ever Summer Smash Stamping Bash, oh we have done tons of events, but this was the first one we have held in the summer other then the Stamp & Scrap Universities that we retired.

I think everyone had fun, let's see do these girls look like they are having fun? It's hard to tell as they are concentrating!

Summer smash projects 002 copy How about these gals?

Summer smash projects 003 copy I think these gals were having the best fun...

Summer smash projects 004 copy

or maybe these girls?

Actually I think everyone had fun, and they enjoyed making their projects. Plus a lot of time these events are the only time some of these girls get to see each other.

When everyone arrived they had their blotter sheets at their places with a few of their goodies, and then they collected their bags at the door.

Summer smash projects 009 copyAt each place setting, we had a water bottle for everyone with a little Countrytime Lemonade in it...gotta keep up their strength and that was to wash down all the chocolate that was in the center of the tables.

I just used the 20 year SU! sizzix die to make a little emblem to put on the front of the bottle hanger thingie.

Now yesterday I showed you one of the projects, and that was actually a frame, a few of you asked me if it was a card. I picked these up at Target a while ago.  I see things, and snag them and then they end up getting used later at a class or an event.

Summer smash projects 005 copy Rhonda and I were shopping for the Summer Smash one day (looking for CD cases) and we went into Joannes and found these cute tins.  Of course we must have got them before anyone else in the world cause we did not see them anywhere else to get an idea of what to do with them.  It is so much easier to copy and tweak then to invent the wheel so to speak..but this is what I came up with.

They were perfect for putting in the supplies everyone got that day, their chipboard letters, their buttons, their clips, ribbons, beer caps etc.

The color is very close to the Kiwi Kiss and looked great with the Muirfield pack of paper everyone got.  We really lucked out when we found them.

Summer smash projects 008 copy Again, I can't understand why when I take a picture straight down it looks yellow, but this is the top.

We had cut everyone's chipboard ahead of time and then everyone cut their own "B" with their paper.

We went with "B" which could stand for buttons, bling, whatever...we were calling everyone so their name started with a "B" we had Beronica, Bari, Bathy, Bulie....yeah we are a riot!!

One of the other things they made was a mini book, these are all the rage right now and the Top Note Die made it adorable, and so easy to do.

Summer smash projects 016 copy

This is a page in mine....me and my BFF Tracy. My printer ink was low so I did not add many pictures, I need to accessorize more to it, and will do that later, I also would like to add more pages.

We glued the background paper to the designer series paper cardboard that comes with the pack, to add a little heftiness to the dsp.

Here are our "dates" from Convention, Grant & Brandon. They actually are young enough to be my sons, they are super sweet and I would be proud to have them be my sons. So I can pretend.  But date sounds sexier...yeah I'm a freak!

Summer smash projects 011 copy

This was a fun gift card holder, with my favorite little frog from A Flower for all Seasons.

I am totally gonna make more of these.

We got the tutorial from Splitcoaststampers - I hope the link works. I am a fan club member and I hope that does not mean you can't open it, if you are not.

Summer smash projects 023 copy I think the big wow was the CD Case Photo cube.  I found these on Paper Jewels blog - they are so much fun.  I had a bit of a hard time with the base using the tutorial, I am not very mathematical, so I was like "gee Rhonda, looks like this is your demo" ain't I nice?  So Rhonda made it much easier for everyone to do.

Summer smash projects 020 copyThese are pics of our trip home to Canada this spring.

This is my Granny and me.

Summer smash projects 019 copy This is me with my Dad and Mum.

Summer smash projects 022 copyThis is the whole fam damily, minus 4.

So don't ya wish you had of been at the event? It was lots of fun, it is great to put these on and see everyone have fun, and it is even better when things are new and they have not see them before. In this old day and age of blogs etc. It is hard to surprise people.

Have a super Sunday, and thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

That's Smashing Darling!

So today on the way to Lois' I had to drive through construction, now that does not say much around here.  Queen Creek is really growing, and unfortunately they took their time to make the roads ready for the increase in traffic, so everywhere you go, there are barricades up here and there.

So anyway today as I am driving down Cloud Rd., you have two lanes of traffic that go down to one, and a worker on each end with a sign "Stop" on one side "Slow" on the other.  Well the guy directing the traffic on my side was busy texting, so he was holding his sign with the crook of his elbow while he was texting, so his sign was saying "Slow" and then it would turn and say "Stop" and so on back and forth, and I was like gee buddy, it's illegal to drive while texting, it should be illegal to direct traffic while texting too.  Luckily no traffic was coming in the other direction, cause that would have been a mess.

So our Summer Smash event is tomorrow, and I am sure everyone attending is all snuggled up in bed and not reading my blog, so here is one of the things they are doing...do not tell anyone I showed this..Summer smash frame 002 copy

I'll show you the rest of the stuff on Sunday.

Have a great Saturday everyone.  I'm gonna be "smashed" - Ha!

Thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

Cheep Cheep

Well the card doesn't say it, but this set does have those words that come with it, as well as some cute jelly beans that I can hardly wait to color.

Cheep chick 008 copy Isn't this little chick cute? I was looking in the back of a magazine, probably Rubber Stamper or Stamp It!  I have oodles of them to go through, I just rip out what I like and throw the magazine away. So I saw this really cute stamp of a tree and a sled in an ad for Serendipity Stamps and it led me to this stamp set after I got looking around on their website.  This card is all made with Stampin' Up! except for the chick, and the embossing folder! I got this fun layout from a card I got from my girlfriend Cindy, who is at a cabin in the Catskills right now, so let's feel bad for her...ha!

Stamp: Easter Chick Cling Set (it's rubber but it clings to the acrylic block)

Paper: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Washington Apple Designer Series Paper, Bashful Blue, Watercolor Paper

Ink: Palette Hybrid Noir, Summer Sun, So Saffron, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Going Gray, Creamy Caramel

Misc: Pumpkin Pie Striped Ribbon, White gel pen, Swiss Dot Folder

So tonight was Greys Anatomy, and it was pretty good.  I cry whenever I see Denny, I wish he had not died, that was such a shock when that happened. One of those moments on a show, when you are so surprised.  Just like when the bomb guy blew up. I was kinda bummed that it was up against ER cause I kinda wanted to see that one too, but GA was on for 2 hours, so it was back and forth to ER, and I missed most of it, I guess I will just have to catch the re-runs instead.

I have class tomorrow at Lois', she has about 10 ladies coming over to her house to do the 10/10/20 Christmas class, then I gotta get home and packed for our Summer Smash event on Saturday.

I hope you have a great Friday, and the weather is beautiful for you wherever you live this weekend, we are still having some warm weather here in AZ.

Thanks so much for stopping in, you all don't know how much I appreciate it.

Hugs, Di
