A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned

Wow, don't that make sense in this day and age?  My friend and fellow Demonstrator Sheri (Hey S2) always says don't spend your change. Put it in a jar and when you are going on a trip, like Convention or something, then turn all your change in and you would be surprised how much money you have saved.

So I have a jar that I keep my change in, this is a jar that used to keep the Ribbon Originals in, but now they come on a spool so I don't need all these jars, so voila! Look how cute it is?

Molly mad money 002 copy Stamp Set: Quirky Alphabet,  Today's ForecastCowboy Kid

Ink: Palette Hybrid Noir Black, Blush Blossom, Brocade Blue, Rose Red

Paper: BG Paper from Joannes, Whisper White, Brocade Blue

Misc: Craft Knife, Serif Essentials Sizzix, Scallop Circle #2 Sizzix, Kiwi Kiss Striped Ribbon, Black Gingham, White Taffeta

Now just a little thing that I have noticed since I have been using contraband stamp sets, a lot of the stamps out there are clear polymer or whatever it is called. I love the Stazon ink for watercoloring, but the clear stamps don't seem to like that ink.  So I tried the Palette Hybrid Pad and that works great with the clear stamps, and it is waterproof, so if you are a coloring fanatic like me you won't have any problems. For a limited time you get one of these pads for FREE when you buy the Quirky Alphabet, so that's a great deal.

Molly mad money 004 copy I colored the face with Blush Blossom and then added a bit of Rose Red in areas to emphasize the "madness".

The letters I just stamped on the background paper and cut them out.The alphabet already has the black border on it, so it easy to cut out, and it looks great.

Molly mad money 001 copy For the lid, (which looks yellow....grrrr!!!!!) I just covered the chipboard "M" with Brocade blue paper. I stamped the paisley from Cowboy Kid on it, the background paper had a paisley look to it.

Tied some ribbon and glue dotted it on top.

I think we should go decorate all our jars!  I did one, now it's your turn!

Thanks for stopping in!

Scalloped Eggs

Ha! Thought I had another recipe didn't ya? Did you try that Chicken Spaghetti yet?  I am gonna make it again, cause it was so good and easy.  Good and easy is what I am all about.

Gina k 1 copy So speaking of easy, look how cute this card is. I used a Gina K stamp set called Baskets of Happiness but everything else is Stampin' Up!

What I did was I scored and folded my More Mustard cardstock and then I laid the score side on the Sizzix Die Scallop Circle #2 (the larger of the two) but I placed it so that the score line stays inside the scallop, that way the card will open, and not just cut two circles.  I just tied the ribbon on it to hide that (cause it does look a little weird), and also to spruce it up.  Cute eh?

I wanna try it with the big Scallop Circle die too. I just wish I had more circles to do some layering, the coluzzle has too much of a gap. I tried to hand cut a circle and it looked horrible, so I just added the gel pen and did some faux stitching just so it had something there, and it turned out pretty cute.

Gina k 2 copy Here it is from the side, so you can see it better. I just think it is darling..have I said that enough? That I like this card? Wouldn't this be cute on a gift bag, or if someone is feeling blue at work you could make a little card and set it on their desk when they come in in the morning you would cheer them up.

So today I was over at Rhonda's we got everything pretty much ready for Saturday's Summer Smash Stamping Bash, we just have to do some last minute little things, and I can hardly wait to show you what we are doing. I have to wait till after the event though, cause it has to be a surprise! People have been asking to see what they are making and we are standing firm...nope!! Hee! hee! Mean eh?

Anyone that knows me too, I am the worst person for surprises, I can totally keep em, but like when I get a gift for someone, I want to give it to them right away.  I usually do not Christmas shop early just because of this. Although this year, I did do some on-line shopping.  I am so glad we can do that with Stampin' Up! now, in this day and age and the hustle and bustle of every day life ordering on-line saves time.

So anyway hang tight and then I'll brag on Sunday, and show you all the goodies everyone got to make.

Have a great Wednesday, I have to go to the eye doctor and see about these glasses, I am thinking they need to be fixed, maybe the "focals" need to be moved...I am getting used to them somewhat, but I can not see up close, and well I am in the business of coloring, and being able to see up close is a real advantage.

Thanks for stopping in!

Da BFF is Da Bomb!

So, I did a leeetle swap with my BFF Tracy, and since I did not have time to stamp for meeself today, I am gonna use Tracy's card as my post, cause I think she won't mind, and it is an amazing card and I just had to show it to you, plus since she does not have a blog...yet...this is a way that you can get to see how talented she is.

Doesn't this card make ya want to go get a coffee? Tracys swap 002 copy  Doesn't it make ya wanna go get one with your BFF, and gab and laugh and cry? Then ya feel all sad cause you aren't gonna see her in a long time, then you get all depressed, and then you see the card says "hope you perk up soon" and ya smile again, cause it don't take much.

I am not a regular coffee drinker, but I like to get a fancy coffee drink once in a while, like when I go see MAMMa I always swing over to Rich Aroma Coffe Co. near us, they have the best Caramel Machiatto, I mean it is way better than the major chain one in my opinion. I ask for decaf, cause I am enough of a spaz without caffeine, plus sometimes it gives me a headache.

One night we were there, and the young girl that worked there must have been the grandaughter of the man and woman that were there. They are the parents of the guy that owns the coffee shop. When she left, she hugged and hugged the grandpa so much that I thought my heart was going to burst from my chest from missing my own Poppa so much, you could tell they loved each other so much.

I am loving how Tracy used the jumbo eyelets on the card, and also the background paper is perfect. It is either Banbury or Manchester I am not for sure.

Tomorrow I am off to Rhonda's so we can cut all the supplies for our Summer Smash Stamping Bash event this coming Saturday, I promise to get home in time to stamp something new for you.

I was trying to do my tutorial while I had class tonight, as I had a small crowd and they were doing fine on their own with just minimal instruction, and I did not like how the card was turning out, so I will have to re-do that.  Can't have anything sub-par (is that a word? sounds fancy don't it?) on here.

Have a super Tuesday, and thanks for stopping in.

Hugs, Di

Let It Snow!

Yeah, well that won't happen anytime soon here, but it sure doesn't stop us from having fun making our Christmas cards.

Christmas class 08 001 copy I had class this morning, 11 ladies were here and they had fun!

From left to right clockwise: Debbie, Liz, Robin, Kristyn, Julie, Karen, Angie, Krista, Carri, Beverly and Maria.

I had no class tonight, so I actually got to spend some time with my family, that was nice for a change.

So I actually was bad, or is that good? I did not stamp at all today, I just enjoyed my Sunday afternoon, and I really need to do that more often.

Here is one of the Christmas cards from class though. Sorry the picture looks yellow, (cause this is such a cute card...) I can't figure out why it does that sometimes.

Christmas class 08 002 copyThis is a card I got off of Splitcoaststampers by dlounds.

The new scallop punch makes scallop(ing) a breeze.

So I have started reading "The Host" , it was not as easy to get into as the "Twilight" series books, cause those I was hooked on by the first page. But I am quite a few chapters in now and I am really starting to like it.  So if you have started it and are hesitating, keep reading, it will grow on ya.

Have a great Monday everyone, I have class in the morning.

Thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

Say Cheese!

Well darn, I wish I had of thought to take the girls in the morning class picture too. But I didn't so, you'll just have to imagine them all having fun.

Night class copy Here is the night class, and I think they enjoyed making their Christmas cards too.

There is from left to right, clockwise: Stephanie, Rachel, Denise, Sandy, Joyce, Jacque, Anne & Betty (see how happy Betty is cause she is coloring!!!) I got 11 more in the am, 9 on Monday, and 10 next week at Lois'.  That is it for this round.  Then on to the 2009 Calendar Class, and the Sock Monkey Class, and then repeating this Christmas card class in November. My Big Shot class in December, and oh yeah the Summer Smash Stamping Bash event on this coming Saturday, there is no rest for the wicked.

So tomorrow I hope to get something new stamped up for ya.  I got a DT project I need to get done, and a tutorial for Tuesday since I have class on Monday and can't do it then.

Have a super Sunday and thanks for stopping in!
