A Stitch in Time Saves Nine...

...remember that saying?  or did I hear it wrong?  Ha! who knows.  I know growing up we said Back 50 when you talked about the back yard, and I think Jeff says the Back 40....maybe it had something to do with the metric system in Canada.  Then the other day at my Big Shot class I was talking about the hard road and everyone looked at me like I was nuts. (MAMMa said "Dianaisms") Hee!hee! Eh Cori?  We live on a dirt road and then when you get out to the paved road we say hard road.  So for example, when you go out my road and turn right, then when you get to the hard road you take another right.  Ha!

So one of the cards we did at the class that everyone thought I was nuts when I told them the hard road story was this one, that I cased from who else? Cindy, I added the stitching on it, and I made the greeting be a wedding saying instead, but basically it's the same card, and it was the easiest...well maybe not the easiest, but it took the less time to make then the rest of the projects.

Ink: Stazon Jetblack, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Baja Breeze

Misc: Basic Black Journaler, Oval punch, Top Note Die, Black brads, sponge, 1 1/4" square punch, embossing folder

I also made a very special card today. Last night I stamped one of my new Magnolia's and I colored her with my Copics, the more I use these markers, the more I like them.  They just take practice.  When I go to CHA in January I miss the certification class cause of my arrival time...so like Cindy was saying she thinks we are already "certifiable" but not in the Copic sense.  The lady comes to Phoenix in April so I will try to go then.

So anyway, this is the card I did for the PCP sketch, Adela came up with it this week.   And this card is going to my BFF Tracy.  Isn't she the stinkinist cutest thing you ever did see? And the card ain't bad either...Now of course after I took the picture, I see that the flowers by her head bent over and I need to trim the ribbon on the left more, but that will get done before this little masterpiece (if I can say that) goes in the mail.

Stamp: Magnolia (I dont know what she is called - I am too lazy to go look) I am saying Sky Looker, cause she is basically laying on the grass looking up. 

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Paper: Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron, More Mustard, Basic Black, Urban Garden DSP (Stampin' Up!) Gina K Luxury cardstock

Misc: Kiwi Satin ribbon, white gel pen, and I got the cute little flowers from NC's ebay store.

I even pulled a Cindy and did the inside of the card: it says "You make my soul bloom!" - that is from Gina K

 

As soon as I saw this stamp, I knew that I wanted to add some dimension to it, I got the flowers when I got the blingy brads, and by using the background paper it looks like she is laying on grass, it was pretty easy to do.

I am off to address some envelopes for Christmas cards, and also a nice padded envelope for this little card for Tracy.  Think I can climb in and surprise her for Christmas?
