Playing Around...

...with different techniques.  I have my Technique Lover's Club class in August after we get back from Convention, so I have to get that all figured out before we leave.

This is a combo one. It's polished stone with a rubber cement twist.  I am not too sure about the flowers, I need to play some more with them, not liking the look so much. I love the technique just not the finished card.  But hey, tomorrow is another day right?

Well it's a quick post tonight.  Have a great Friday and thanks for stopping in!

Nothing makes me happier...

...then my Toby all bathed, brushed and looking all handsome.  Of course he won't sit still long enough for me to take his picture, so you will have to take my word on it.  I need to take him to the groomer for a trim though, as his hair is in his face, and his ears are really long, I can bathe him but I don't feel confident enough to take scissors to him, he has already been "fixed" once..ha!

So today I had a fun day with my Trilogy gals, when I grow up I am moving there.  They even have a lunch place there too...man oh man, I might even take up golf...ok, well not really, but let's say Jeff says "hey if we move to Trilogy will you start playing golf?" I might say sure, just to move there, and then I might say "oh I was foolin' ya, plus I gotta stamp!"

So I told you that I would show you the other card I demoed today.  I hosted a swap recently with my downline and a few other demonstrators and I got the cards the other day, so I cased my pal, fellow Demonstrator, fellow Canadian Kathy Bethune (hey chickee), and I just changed the layout of the card and the ribbon, but it is basically her card.  If you want to see Kathy's card and the rest of the swaps please look to the right and I have some photo albums over there, click on Swaps and RAKs, and it will open up to the cards.

Here it is, and thanks Kathy for the idea...mwah!!!

DSCN8556 copy Stamp Set: From the Crypt, All Holidays
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Cast-a-Spell DSP
Ink: Basic Black, Old Olive
Marker: Crushed Curry
Misc: Black Striped ribbon, oh man I love this stuff, and want more colors...why am I never satisfied? ha!

The card I did for the girls, they wanted the teeth yellow, so I did that instead...and that looked cool.

I might have to do some of these for convention, or a variation.  They are cute and quick, and right now with less then a week away that is what I am aiming at.
Jeff and Eric are watching WipeOut so I think I will go check it out.  I had a head ache earlier and had to go lay down. The older I get this heat really knocks me out.

Have a great Thursday and thanks for stopping in!

Where's my Bird?

Yep, sounds funny eh?  Maybe not so funny if you were a nurse and a 90 year old woman was saying it.  But then if that 90 year old woman was my Granny, I am sure they got a chuckle out of it.

My Granny, Granny_May_31 who is 90, here is a picture my sister Jacqui took of her in April at a picnic. Isn't she beautiful?  They even put some make-up on her.
We almost lost her a few years back, some doc who should lose his licence messed her up pretty bad, in fact someone is suing him right now for some of other shoddy doctoring he did.

But she is much better now and she lives in a nursing home.  She has a blanket with a cardinal on it, and she likes it folded so she can see "her bird", and if she can't she says. "I can't see my bird" "Where's my bird" ..you get the picture.  I think it is hilarious, one of the nurses explained to Granny what she saying and what people might think she means by "my bird" and she got a chuckle out of it.  See everyone, I come by my wackiness honestly, and I will wear it proudly.
So in honor of my Granny's bird blanket with the cardinal on it, here is a fun card using the new wood sheets.

DSCN8554 copy Stamp Set: A Cardinal Christmas
Ink: Basic Black, Creamy Caramel
Paper: Real Red, Wood Sheets, Whisper White
Misc: Top Note Die, Finial press embossing folder, 3/4" polka-dot grosgrain ribbon (turned around to the plain side), ovals die, watercolor pencils, stumps and sansodor.

Some one asked about if the sansodor dried out on the sponge since it was not covered up, and I am thinking maybe it was a bit.  So again I have moved my oil...it is like never ending...ha!  Anyway, I had these squatty little sealer jars, and I put a sponge in there (I used a new one, didnt need to trim it, and poured the oil in, this has a lid, and I think it will be better, I just need to decorate the lid a little...ha!

Well I have a workshop with my Trilogy gals in the morning, in fact this here card I will be demoing for them, I'll show you the other one tomorrow.

I hope you have a great Wednesday, I can not tell you how much is on my to-do list from now till Convention, and I leave in one week!!! Yowza!!!

Thanks for stopping in!

In the Spotlight Tutorial

UStamp with Dawn & Friends is winding down and it has been awesome, I have met such fun people while being part of the Creative Crew Girls. Dawn asked if I would do a bonus video tutorial on a technique I did years and years ago.  The only way I could do the video was to upload it to YouTube.  Projects and videos are usually available only to UStamp members but since I could not get the UStamp group thingie to upload the video this was the only way to do it.

It's kinda cool cause this way you can see how awesome UStamp is, and you can make plans to join when we start the next round in the fall.  The dates will be announced soon and when they are I will be offering some blog candy like before...a FREE PASS to UStamp!  So stay tuned.

Here is the card I will be showing you how to make.

Another One?

Yep, I can't get enough, and so cute and easy.  I fancied this one up a bit by using an embossing folder.  I love the whisper white cardstock run through the folder, it looks so elegant.

I had wanted this set when I first saw it, and then my brain says "just wait, you don't need it just yet", then I see such cute things with it.  So when I turned in my Sale-a-Bration (SAB) points (as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator we earn free sets based on sales and recruiting during SAB - what a great perk eh?) This is one of the ones I picked, it has such cute sayings in it.

DSCN8552 copy Stamp Set: Humor in High Heels
Paper: Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Ink: Basic Black
Misc: Prismacolor pencils, sansodor, stumps, finial press embossing folder, 3/4" circle punch, dimensionals, word window punch

So today I went grocery shopping, I don't know why I waited till Sunday, cause everyone and their mother was there, but we needed food, so I got groceries, and then Jeff and I watched Underworld - Rise of the Lycans...it was totally excellent, I have seen all of them...and I am thinking they need to do one more that will connect this one with the first Underworld.  It sure made me like the Lycans (a.k.a. werewolves) better than the Vampires when I saw the movie from this far back... I know bite my tongue eh?  Oh and Lucian the head Lycan played by Michael Sheen is actually going to play a vampire, Aro the leader of the Volturi in the New Moon movie.  So how is that for a kick in the teeth fangs? I can hardly wait till the movie comes out, I have been scanning the internet for clips and all that. Check out the trailer below..(added since original post...so I took the trailer off, it would run even without clicking on it, and I didn't want people to get sick of it) .It's like 4 months away....geesh!!  I have been watching Trueblood since we have the DirectTV with the free HBO on it (at least for 3 months), and well that sure is some wild stuff, no wonder it is not on regular TV. I read all the books but to see it on TV...hmmm.......

Well I am gonna tidy up and call it a night!

Have a great Monday, don't forget to check for the Deal of the Week, this will be that last Monday, I hope you have been having fun with them.

Thanks for stopping in!
