Punch Fun

Bee Yourself closeup

I get emails from so many different companies, and half the time I don't even know how they got my email address, but I got one a couple weeks ago, and they had this fun little bee on the email and I thought I am going to make him with punches. I am going to make a video on how I made him but  I was gone all day hanging out with a dear friend of mine (Hi Jayne) so I didn't get it done. I will do it tomorrow. Luckily I made the card last night.

Bee Yourself
He makes me smile just looking at him.  I am going to make some up to sell in my Etsy store, so let me know if you are interested. I will be putting different verses, and doing them on the computer instead of altering a stamp set like I did here. Aint he cute?

This is a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card.  The inside of the card picture did not turn out, but it says "Nobody is better qualified".

Here is what I used:

Stamp Set: Smarty Pants (I just did some fancy masking to make the word "BE" turn into "BEE")

Paper: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Summer Sun Textured, Bashful Blue, Vellum, Pink Flamingo DSP

Ink: Basic Black

Misc: White gel pen, paper piercer, mat pack, Basic Black marker, Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder

Punches: 1/2" circle, Heart to Heart, 1 3/8" circle, Small Oval, My Way, 1/4" hand-held punch (this is  punch that SU! does not sell anymore, but you probably have it, if not if you have the Daisie #2 Die, the little circle that comes out of the small daisy would work)

Come back tomorrow and I will show you how I made this cute little bee. Oh and don't forget you only have till noon AZ time to enter to win the blog candy.

Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping in!

Blog Tips

I guess they are tips..what I have been seeing by a lot of comments are I have not been very good about explaining my blog...

For instance:

Want to see my Studio? - there's an app. for that! OK there isn't but I swear that goes in my head for everything, it's like I'm gonna google it, all these sayings we say now a days...ok let's get serious.

Want to see my Studio? Off to the left is a little photo and it says "Check out my Stamping Studio", when you click on that a bunch of pictures come up.

What to see how to watercolor? That seems to be a frequent request: I do have a tutorial on here listed under the categories, which are on the right side. Here is the link: How to Watercolor - I had been trying to email everyone with the link, but this might be easier.

The Circle Scissor - sorry I don't have that, so I won't be able to show it.  I use my Big Shot dies for the circles I need, and if I need a different size, I just change my design...I'm stubborn like that.

More videos: I will definitely be doing more, but till then, you can see the ones I have done by clicking on the word "Video" under the Categories to the right. Plus if you subscribe to my Youtube channel (there is a place to do that when you are watching the video below) then you won't miss any either.

More tutorials: Again, I will definitely do more, but you can see what I have done by clicking on "Tutorials" under the Categories...I have noticed though when I first started blogging I didn't know what I was doing as much as I do now (which is still not a lot), I forgot to add some of the names of the Tutorials in the Categories list, so I need to go back and find them.

Listing Stamp Sets:  I would love this myself, I did try to add a search widget on here and it would not work, if I start listing the stamp sets in the Categories, I am worried that list will be 5 times as long as it is now.  I emailed Typepad and they are working on something, so I am hoping this will get fixed...but for now, if you click on the Photo to the right that says "My Gallery", you can see the cards in there and the recipes (again old stuff won't be there, cause I was clueless at the beginning).

If anyone has a typepad blog and has any tips or suggestions for ME, I would love to hear them.

One thing I did do today was make a quick tutorial on how to attach the sticker to the new Clear Mount stamps.

Here is what the stamps look like in their cases.

DSCN0966 copy
Here is how little a bit of space two stamp sets take if you have clear mount. I still prefer the wood, cause I like to mount once and be done with it.  But a lot of people are ordering this style, so that is awesome.

Well I have a cute card I am working on for tomorrow, cute!

Have a great Saturday and thanks for stopping in!

Stained Mosaic - Finally

Mosaic closeup

Well I finally got enough left over adhesive backed rubber to re-make my mosaic stamp. I whipped this card up after American Idol.  I guessed Janell, Haeley, John & Tim.  I really wanted Tyler to go but figured they would keep him a while.  So Janell was not a surprise, but the rest were, I can't believe Tim is still around, what a joke. At one point when they sing that stupid song as a group at the beginning, he was singing and then oops, he forgot to have the mike up and then he put his mike up to his face...ok whatever.

So back to the fun stuff.  This was easy to do, but making the mosaic takes FOREVER! I used adhesive backed so this is made to keep, I am not making one each time.  Here is the tutorial from SCS. I used all Stampin' Up! product though.

Mosaic stamp
Here is the stamp, all the little pieces glued to an acrylic block, this is the biggest block that Stampin' Up! sells, I wanted it pretty big, I will add more as I get more extra rubber, but for this card, this was big enough.  It is nice to see through it so you can tell where to stamp.

Mosaic front
I think the card turned out pretty good, (what do you think Sharon?) I used the same layout as the card I did the other night.  I have a bit of a headache so I kinda wanted to get done quick...oh and now that I look at it, I think I glued the main image upside down...oh well it is hard to tell, and if I did not say that no one would have known.

Stamp Set: Elements of Style, Tiny Tags

Paper: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, Sweet Pea DSP

Ink: Jetblack Stazon to stamp image, Regal Rose, Going Gray, So Saffron, Old Olive to color image, Versamark Pad, I used Basic Gray to make my look of grout lines.

Misc: Tiny Tag punch, Very Vanilla Taffeta, Clear Embossing Powder, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Black Marker

It's neat, it looks like you broke a plate and then grouted it all together.

Well this old gal is headed to bed, I will be in bed before 10pm, the first time in months, it's usually 1am, and I think it is catching up with me.

Thanks for stopping in, have a great Friday!

American Idol - The Boyz

Tonight was the men and this is my take on it...

I voted for 4 guys: Aaron, I feel kinda related to him...ha! He is a nephew of a friend of mine who is a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, and he did awesome, he is an excellent, country singer. Lee, he is good, love that raspy voice, he is a combo between Danny Gouky and David Cook, Garcia as we affectionately call him at the Gibbs' house, he might have not picked a good song tonight but we love him, and he is gonna do well, especially if he stays true to himself like he did that Straight Up song, and also Casey, what a sweetie, and yeah Janet (who emailed before I could blog...waving hi), he is adorable and a doll and sexy, and he sang Bryan Adams one of my favorite Canadian singers, so that gave him extra points. He also got extra extra points for having to sing over the craziness that was going on with the judges.  What happened if he had of gotten the pee giggles mid song? Well I would have sent him one of my personal t-shirts of course, but it would not have been fair...ok onto some of the rest...

Todrick, good voice, bad arrangement. Tim, who the heck did they kick off to bring him back? and why pick him...ugh!  I would have picked Seth, cause Tim was horrible as usual. Tyler, sorry dude one Mick Jagger is enough,  I am sure he will continue on for a while, but I don't like him. John, his bottom end was not so good tonight. Micheal, he is sweet and usually sounds good, not so much tonight, they asked him where he wanted to be or something when this was over, and I see him being the body guard of the winner, cause he is huge.  Alex, they were too hard on him, he sounded pretty good, loved Ellen's mullet joke.

I also wonder if the singers get their own mike, or if they wash it between singers, cause a lot of them mouth the mike, like get their lips on it, and ugh, they'll all be sick in a couple weeks and have cold sores to boot, just you wait. Hopefully Kara won't get one...ha!!!

I loved Kara's ring, it looked like one of those rings to punch people in the face, cause it covered two fingers.  I also love Randy's affectionate way he calls Ellen.  I think the other night he said E.D., and then tonight I think he said E.  I hope it is affectionate, cause I think she is so funny, and glad she is on the show.

Well enough of my blabbering.

Thanks for stopping in!
