Picture This

So the other day when I went into Cost Plus World Market to pick up some more Canadian chocolate bars, and cookies, I noticed that they had these little tiny cards for sale and I thought heck I could make some of those, and shhhh...much cuter too.

What fun little cards to give out for whatever reason.  You make your hubby his lunch and you put a little note inside, how about a little note inside your child's lunch pail.  A little note inside the mail box for the post man, or my favorite mail deliverer the UPS man, gotta love that man in brown...how about a little note for your favorite waitress, or hair dresser.

The hostess set called "Picture This" has some fun little greetings that would work for these kind of cards. You could use any little pieces of cardstock but  I wanted a little bit of cuteness on them, so I grabbed my pack of Hugs Love Notes, they have little scallops all along the edges.

DSCN1200 copy
This one I just left flat and tied a bit of taffeta ribbon on it.

DSCN1202 copy
The little bee one I folded in half, and it is so cute, I added a few dots so it looks like the bee is flying and he wrote the greeting with his butt.

DSCN1203 copy
This one I folded it in half, trimmed one side flat and used my eyelet border punch on the other side.  I love this little I (heart) you, friend greeting.  A little bit of red gingham and it makes a precious little love note for that special friend.

DSCN1205 copy
This one is similar to the one previous, but I used the free Scallop Trim Border punch instead, I love the little pear and I was trying to get it the right color with some yellow and green, it is so tiny I could not be as anal perfect as I wanted. A little bit of crushed curry polka dot ribbon on top is so cute.

I think this shape is my favorite. I folded the love note long ways this time, and tied some grosgrain on the top.

Have fun with these little love notes, and think of different ways to use them, especially if you are just handing them out, or sticking them in secret little hiding spots, you don't have to worry about the size when you are not mailing them.

I remember when Jeff and I were first married he would leave little notes around like a treasure hunt and I would have to find, using the clues, my little goodie, it was usually a chocolate bar or something like that.  These would be perfect for that.

Oh and look at what Jeff found while he was out doing yard work...our first critter of the season.

Look at those long toes. Now that it is warming up there will be many more critters to come.

Have a great Monday and thanks for stopping in!

New Moon Day and Night

Love friend closeup

Well this morning we got up early and took our nephew Bobby to the airport, it was sad to say goodbye, it was great having him here.

Bobby and diana
Here's Bobby and I right before we left, and I don't know who will miss him more, Jeff, Eric and I or...

Bobby and toby
...Toby.  It took Toby a few days to get used to Bobby, but after he did he was all over him.

So on the way back from dropping Bobby off, I ran into Walmart and picked up the New Moon movie, and as soon as we got home at like 6am, yeah I said 6am. We watched it...then I went back to bed...I had my first ever Edward dream...ha!  After I got up we watched another movie "The Last Picture Show", and then I watched the rest of the discs that came with the movie. So it was basically a New Moon Day, and OMG! my disc had an extra one and in the special features you can watch Fast Forward Edward and it just shows the scenes with Edward in it...can ya wear out the edges in a disc?

So with all this couch sitting going on I whipped up a quick card tonight...and I think it turned out great. I love the Scallop Trim Border punch on the edge of the main card.

Over, Under...

...I wonder what this world is coming to when we have commercials or discussions on what direction we put our toilet paper roll...I even googled "under over toilet paper" and I got this:

http://currentconfig.com/2005/02/22/essential-life-lesson-1-over-is-right-under-is-wrong/

It even has diagrams and sounds all scientific and stuff.  Now you know me, I'm a leeetle bit of a rebel, I like to think outside of the box, throw the old left handed monkey wrench in the whole system.

This is what the toilet paper looks like 97.43% of the time in our house.

Sideways tp

I wonder what the folks at Current Configuration would think about that?

I guess we can just ponder this mystery and I'll check back with ya'll tomorrow...I'm gonna be watching "New Moon" for probably like 10 times!

Have an awesome Saturday and thanks for stopping in!

Easter Easel Box Tutorial

Before we get to the tutorial, I want to give a great big SHOUT OUT! to my two biggest fans in Alpena Michigan, let's here it for Denise & Kristen (crowd cheers!!!) They are teachers and will be starting March Break soon and I didn't want them to miss this cute tutorial, so this tute's for you girls! (sending ya big hugs!! and a mwah!!)

Here are the measurements, since it might have been hard to follow on the video.

The box or tray is 4" x 4" and then I scored it 1/2" on each side.

The Belly Band is 7 1/2" x 3", and it is scored at 3", 3 1/2", 6 1/2" and 7" (added since original post...sometimes the belly band is tight on the box/tray depending on what you score with, so you might need to score it and add a "dit" so the belly band is a teensy bit bigger then the box - just practice with scrap paper)

The Easel part is 6" x 3", and it is scored at 1 1/2" and 3"

The card that gets decorated and attached to the easel part is 3' x 3"

So what I did was just figure out how many turds raisin-ettes I wanted to put in the tray and then did my measuring from there. Here is the original post.

This is basically the same technique we used for the Top Note Desktop Drawer. So now you can make any size basically.

Well this old gal is headed to bed, our nephew Bobby has been visiting from Illinois, so today we fiddle farted around, I took him to the Deli for lunch and had a great time.  I told him I am gonna kidnap him, adopt him and change his name to Philip.  He is in the National Guard and will be going into active duty here soon so it has been nice having this week with him, he's a good "kid" and we are gonna miss him.

Have an awesome Friday and thanks for stopping in!

If You Were a Bunny...

Turd holder closeup

Where would you keep em?

You don't want to share them, they taste so good.  You worked all day making them, it's not fair that you don't get to keep them all to yourself.

Turd holder side
Flopsy and Mopsy are just as able as you are to make their own.  Maybe if you make a cute little box, no one will even know the secret that it holds. You can stand on guard and protect your tiny little treasures.

Turd holder full
I won't tell what's inside, if you don't.

Stamp Set: Chocolate Bunny, Tiny Tags

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip DSP

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Misc: White Taffeta, Chocolate Epoxy brads, Medium Jewelry tag punch, Raisin-ettes (hey what did you think I was talking about?)

Come back tomorrow and I'll show you how I made it.

You will notice I am saying nothing about American Idol, I am so mad that Lacey got kicked off and that crappy Tim is still there.  At least she will still be traveling with the Top 12, but man this season is wacked. And what about that freaky chick with the TV back up singers, give me a break...oh wait I said I wasn't gonna say anything...I'll shut up now!

Have a great Thursday and thanks for stopping in!
