Picture This
March 22, 2010
So the other day when I went into Cost Plus World Market to pick up some more Canadian chocolate bars, and cookies, I noticed that they had these little tiny cards for sale and I thought heck I could make some of those, and shhhh...much cuter too.
What fun little cards to give out for whatever reason. You make your hubby his lunch and you put a little note inside, how about a little note inside your child's lunch pail. A little note inside the mail box for the post man, or my favorite mail deliverer the UPS man, gotta love that man in brown...how about a little note for your favorite waitress, or hair dresser.
The hostess set called "Picture This" has some fun little greetings that would work for these kind of cards. You could use any little pieces of cardstock but I wanted a little bit of cuteness on them, so I grabbed my pack of Hugs Love Notes, they have little scallops all along the edges.
This one I just left flat and tied a bit of taffeta ribbon on it.
The little bee one I folded in half, and it is so cute, I added a few dots so it looks like the bee is flying and he wrote the greeting with his butt.
This one I folded it in half, trimmed one side flat and used my eyelet border punch on the other side. I love this little I (heart) you, friend greeting. A little bit of red gingham and it makes a precious little love note for that special friend.
This one is similar to the one previous, but I used the free Scallop Trim Border punch instead, I love the little pear and I was trying to get it the right color with some yellow and green, it is so tiny I could not be as anal perfect as I wanted. A little bit of crushed curry polka dot ribbon on top is so cute.
I think this shape is my favorite. I folded the love note long ways this time, and tied some grosgrain on the top.
Have fun with these little love notes, and think of different ways to use them, especially if you are just handing them out, or sticking them in secret little hiding spots, you don't have to worry about the size when you are not mailing them.
I remember when Jeff and I were first married he would leave little notes around like a treasure hunt and I would have to find, using the clues, my little goodie, it was usually a chocolate bar or something like that. These would be perfect for that.
Oh and look at what Jeff found while he was out doing yard work...our first critter of the season.
Look at those long toes. Now that it is warming up there will be many more critters to come.
Have a great Monday and thanks for stopping in!
