Crazy for Cupcakes

DSCN1604 copy
Who doesn't love a cupcake or a nice plump muffin?  I love a banana nut muffin or a moist zucchini muffin is good too.

Today was cold here in Arizona, and I almost wished I had of wore a coat, then we tell ourselves don't complain that it is cold in April, the heat will be here before you know it.

I hosted a swap so I have cards on the stamp tables getting sorted so I had some card gut packets laying around so I grabbed these pieces and whipped up a card.  I had not used this set for a while.

Stamp Set: Crazy for Cupcakes

Paper: Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Watercolor Paper, Bashful Blue DSP

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Sahara Sand, Charcoal, Real Red

Misc: Black Satin ribbon

To color I used a blender pen and a few different mediums, watercolor wonder crayon, marker, and ink pads.  I wanted all my supplies to feel loved.

Don't forget today is the last day of the month and that means the last day to order out of the Occasions Mini Catalog.

Well I am off for the night. Have an awesome Friday and thanks so much for stopping in.

GoDivas and an Award times 3

Etsy cards

I was busy today, I cleaned my studio, well pretty much, heck as soon as I go to stamp anything, I pull it all out again...it's like making the bed...why bother...ha!, and I updated my Etsy store, I added over a dozen new items and most of them are just one card only, so once it is gone it's gone.

Sunshine-Award

I also was nominated by three people for the Sunshine Award how fun is that?  I want to thank Sherry, Juliana and Evita for giving me the Sunshine award.  I am supposed to pass it on, but I am gonna let you decide who you think should get the award, copy and paste the award to your computer and pass it on...I guess I can do that right?  There are so many awesome blogs out there, that I think everyone should get an award. I gave this award out last week or so, now it's your turn.

About a month ago my sweet friend Robin Merriman asked if I would like to be part of her GoDivas swap group, and she said the girls in the group were awesome stampers, and I thought I would give it a shot. I knew the stamp set I wanted to use, and I already showed you the card I did for it. If you forgot here it is.

So the other day I got the swaps back in the mail, and holy moly, they are awesome.  I am just going to show you a few, and the rest are displayed in my studio, and some I will be copying for classes.

I wanted to show these cause they used the new Square Lattice Impressions folder that you can start ordering May 1. It looks different if you use it flip side too. To me it looks more like fabric then lattice, but I don't care what it is called, I love it, and I say bring on those folders Stampin' Up! we want more!

The swap was using stamp sets from the new mini, so if you see a set you like give me a shout, if you didn't get your mini catalog yet.

Love the "dirty" look of it. Satin ribbon and a motorbike, gotta love it.

Man, I don't even know where to start with this one. The colors pop and I also love the "dirty-ness" of this card too and all the little embellishments.

This card was stamped by Lisa Bohler

I love everything about this, the colors, the little punch to hold on the ribbon.  The Top Note, and I swear the embossing folder really looks like fabric on the card, like a baby blanket. Makes ya wanna have a baby...ok maybe not...maybe just smell the head of one...or buy a new wallet with a picture of a baby in it...that's the ticket.

These colors make me want to sit by the pool and drink a pina colada. How about you? Want one?

This card was stamped by our famous GoDiva Queen herself Robin Merriman

I love how Robin inked up the folder and then ran the paper through, the pattern really stands out doesn't it? See how her crosses are indented and some of the other cards are reverse? That is what I mean it looks different which side you use.

Make sure when you come to class you ask to see the cards, I have them in a special little basket.

So we are down to the Top 5 now on American Idol and I am glad that Siobhan went home and NOT Casey, OMG! I was freaking. Then I looked up something on my phone on the newspaper under entertainment and the first thing I see is Siobhan is kicked off, I seen it like 10 seconds before they told..ha! And my BFF Tracy is so good about not telling me stuff, except what I should NOT miss, like the Ford commercial, OMG! I loved it.  The Idols were vampires, and I so want contacts like that, I already have fangs.  Yeah, I know...I'm a freak, but a fun one.

I really enjoyed this weeks music, and I loved tonights entertainment, but wondered why they had Shakira sing and not Shania?  Their names are kinda similar, but come on it was country week already. I did kinda like the Sons of Sylvia, any band with a fiddle and a mandolin in it, is all right in my book.

Well I am off to bed, I finished my 4th Vampire Academy book, it was excellent. I am gonna switch things up and take a vamp break and start to read Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz, my sweet friend, and down-line Donna loaned it to me.

Have an awesome Thursday and thanks so much for stopping in.  Oh and if you found a stray "W" in my post somewhere I hope it didn't make a bad word, I started typing "W" and then I don't know where it went.  How eird,  I mean weird...ha!

Awash With Flowers

DSCN1594 copy

Isn't this set pretty? I will be the first to admit that I am not a big fan of solid stamps, I would rather sit and color, and I could have totally done that to this set, I could have stamped them and then colored, but I was a good girl and used the rest of the set, and used it as it's purpose as 2-step stamping, and I do like it and it made it quick, even though I am anal and used my stamp-a-ma-jig.

I am love love loving this new DSP from the Summer Mini, and you can order it starting May 1.  But what about the Awash with Flowers stamp set?  That one needs to be ordered by April 30, yeah you heard me right. This set is a little sneaky peeky from the new catalog.  So if you don't get it now, you have to wait until July to order it again.  Come on, I know you want it.

If you do, here are the item codes and cost, it comes wood mount as well as clear mount.

#117062 is wood mount and it is $39.95

#120549 is clear mount and it is $27.95

Here's the rest of the card to help you decide. I got the layout and design from Ilina Crouse, I just changed the colors...thanks Ilina (hey did you get the call yet?)

DSCN1592 copy
Stamp Set: Awash with Flowers, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Itty Bitty Backgrounds

Paper: Tempting Turquoise Textured, Old Olive Textured, Whisper White, Island Oasis DSP

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, So Saffron, More Mustard, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral

Misc: Old Olive Satin ribbon

This is a standard size card.

OK so drum roll please the Top 6 on American Idol. Can I tell you that Country is my favorite night? And I love Shania Twain, I could listen to her talk for days, that Canadian accent.  Did you know she used to live and was discovered up near where my Dad lives? Neat eh?

So here goes my two cents...

Lee: Oh he makes me cry cause I am so proud of him and how he is growing as a singer and coming out of that shell and how he knocks my socks off every week. It almost looked like he was going to do something at the end with his guitar but people started clapping. Heck, I'd be climbing on the stage if I was there.

Mike: Sorry big guy, I didn't like it. The song was all over the place, low, slow, and then the end with the high notes...ugh.  I think he will go home tomorrow.

Casey:  I agree with the judges and this might have been his best performance yet.

Crystal:  I love the whole Blue Grass sound and how she had the back up singers and instruments. I can't believe the judges didn't like it.

Aaron: So this guy made me cry (and my BFF Tracy too), this is my favorite Shania Twain of all time, I play it over and over.  I noticed he changed the lyrics, and then was glad when he explained why.

Siobhan: She totally ruined this song, she did her normal screeching at the end, and I think she also could go home.  I can NOT believe that the judges liked this...but then they didn't like Crystal, so what can I say? What are they sipping in those coke glasses?

I voted for Lee, Casey and Aaron.  Yeah did you notice? I didn't vote for Crystal.  I did like her, but I think the three guys were better, so that is how I voted.

I can hardly wait for tomorrow night, I think the entertainment will be awesome, I think they said Lady Antebellum and I love them.

Well my pillow is calling me, so I am gonna answer it.  Hello.............

Have a great Wednesday and thanks for stopping in!

So Long Sweet Pea

DSCN1587 copy

Well we knew it was coming, but not quite this soon.  Stampin' Up! has announced that the Sweet Pea DSP and the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt flowers are all gone. They have run out and can not get anymore.  This is great I think, that we almost made it to the end of the mini catalog (which is Friday by the way), and now Stampin' Up! won't have a bunch of it left over. It also makes you realize if there is something you really like, don't wait till the last minute to order it.

So when I was making my Taken with Teal card here, I was scoring and folding the cardstock and then cutting it to the size I wanted, and then it was leaving me these fun little card pieces left over, so I grabbed some of my Sweet Pea DSP that I had left over, a quick stamp, a couple punches, a few little butterfly sizzlits, and voila how cute is this card?  I think this might have been the first time I used the black satin ribbon.  It is so yummy.  I love black on a card.

DSCN1588 copy
Stamp Set: Oval All (I masked off the big flower on the stamp so I could glue the butterfly there)

Paper: Taken with Teal, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Pea DSP, Shimmery White, Pretty in Pink

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Pretty in Pink

Misc: Scallop trim punch, Oval scallop punch, oval punch, Pretties half back pearl, white gel pen, Basic Black satin ribbon, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die

The finished card size is 5 1/2" x 3 1/2"

So tonight while I was whipping up this card, I had on Criminal Minds and Jasper from Twilight was on there, he played kind of a whack job on there, but it was fun seeing him on something else.  Then the next Criminal Minds episode had a guy that is a character on TrueBlood.  How fun.

Well I didn't hear from Oprah.  She had some thing going on if you wrote and said why you like Twilight...blah!blah!blah!, then she would pick so many and then you would go on her show and meet some of the characters.  I even bought a super box of Poise pads to take with me.  I wrote my thing up (2,000 characters or less...holy moly have you ever heard me say less then that? NOT) and then the last sentence I said "if you don't pick me, you can bite me."  Maybe she didn't find that as funny as me, I bet if her BFF Gayle read it, she would have picked me, I think Gayle seems so much more fun to hang around with ya know?  Cause when I think of the words bite me, they mean vampire. Oh well, I didn't want to go to Chicago anyway.

Well I have to get a hair cut and Toby needs to go to the groomer tomorrow.  The "salons" are across the street from each other so I try to plan our days together.

Have an awesome Tuesday and thanks for stopping in.

What a Pretty Garden

DSCN1580 copy
Today I worked on my on-line order thank you cards.  I did the same card as one I did for Stampin' Up! for the Stampin' Success.

I also worked on my bonus cards for the swap I am hosting.  If I get the girl's cards by a certain date, they get a bonus card.  I did the same one (I didn't take a picture of it), but the bonus one had a button as it will be mailed in a bigger envelope.  The thank you cards don't have the button so that it does not get caught in the machine at the post office.

DSCN1579 copy
I used the new Cherry Cobbler cardstock, so everyone getting one will get to see how beautiful that color is.

Stamp Set: Elements of Style, Pocket Silhouettes

Paper: Crumb Cake a.k.a. Kraft, Cherry Cobbler, Shimmery White

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard, Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Whisper White

Misc: White Taffeta, My Way punch

I colored with my Aqua Painter and the Ink Pads.

I got some envelopes to address, so I am gonna get off here.

Have an awesome Monday and thanks for stopping in!
