Avatar

DSCN1567 copy

So tonight we (well I, cause Jeff fell asleep half way through it - I had a nap earlier, and am the night owl), watched Avatar, and it was amazing!  OMG!  Too funny, a week or so ago, we saw the commercial for it on TV, and Jeff and I were like we really need to go see that, then we realized the commercial was saying the DVD was coming out, so we were like oops, guess we won't see it in 3-D.

After watching it tonight on regular TV, I think I would have not liked it as much in 3-D, I might have been sick.  I have to take motion pills when we cruise, and even take them when I fly, so the thought of me seeing this movie 3-D...ugh! So I think I am glad we waited, cause I know we would have opted for the 3-D one, plus I would have had to pee half way through and no one wants to pause a movie in the theater.

If you have not seen the movie, you really should, I can't get over the effects in it, and my goodness, you should see the longgggggggg list of names in the credits, at least it was on the end of the movie and not the beginning, like another movie I talked about recently...ha!

It was cool how the Avatars really looked like their characters.  In fact I was telling Jeff either the main actor is indeed paralyzed as his legs were tiny in the film, or they altered them on the computer, remember in Forest Gump when they computerized that Gary Sinese had no legs below the knees at all, that was amazing. Well this is flawless. (I googled it - and I can't say that without thinking of my favorite vamp Edward Cullen - and indeed the actor is not paralyzed and the effects were done on the computer).  No wonder there were a million names on the end in the credits.  Kudos, and I am hoping there will be another one. It kinda ended like there might be.

OK enough of me blabbering.

This is another of the projects the girls did at my Big Shot class, I got this little milk carton container holder idea from my friend, the very talented Becky Roberts. She doubles hers up, but I did just a single box with 2 milk cartons in it.  If you pop over to see Becky make sure to tell her I said "Hi".

2012

DSCN1575 copy

We watched the movie "2012" tonight and it was pretty good, it was pretty far fetched through most of it in how there were so many near misses of the main characters getting killed.  But I love a John Cusack movie as much as the next person. I was waiting to see if his buddy old pal Jeremy Piven would show up cause it seems like you can't have one in a movie without the other. It's like watching a Ron Howard movie, you just wait for that first shot of his brother Clint.

You never know though the way Mother Nature has been messing around this could very well happen.

This is one of the projects for my Big Shot class this weekend. I pretty much cased my fellow Artisan Award winner Lisa Nichol's On-line bonus card, except I changed the color and flower center embellishment. Thanks Lisa for the inspiration.

Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper: Taken With Teal, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Misc: Word Window punch, Modern Label punch, Daisies #2 Die, Lattice Die

Tip: The leaves are just the little pieces that fall out of the Lattice Die, I just did another Lattice in Certainly Celery, then I stacked them off set a little bit.

This card also uses the Sweet Pea DSP Item #117161, and you will not be able to get this DSP after April 30, so if you are loving this paper pack as much as me, you are going to want to order some.  It also has retiring colors in it, so it won't be back in the big catalog.

I am headed to bed, I have a headache, in order for me to hear the movie we have to turn the tv loud, I prefer the words along the bottom so the tv does not have to be so loud, but Jeff does not like that.  Even though once in a while I will say "what did he say?" and he will say "I don't know." Maybe he should have the words on too eh? Oh well.

Have a great Saturday and thanks for stopping in!

The Bride Wore Red

Cardinal close
Well actually it was Cherry Cobbler.

Today I finished cutting the supplies for my Big Shot Class this weekend.  I will show what they are doing in a day or so.

I also had a fun visit with Dany my Canadian Demonstrator friend that came by last summer. It was nice seeing her again.

After a delicious supper of meatloaf, potatoes, and yummy green beans with bacon that Eric cooked for us, I sat down to watch Vampire Diaries. It is getting so good, I have always liked Damon from the start and am liking him more and more.  I also watched Private Practice and Grays Anatomy.  I thought Grays was on before Private Practice but not tonight. I am so mad at Violet if she goes through with sueing for custody.  I guess that keeps us watching eh?  So it was nice to have a night where I just watched some TV.

This is the last card I did for the Color Renovation.  I sponged my Cherry Cobbler ink on the Bride paper and gave it a whole other look. Cool eh?

Cherry Cobbler

Yum, it is delicious and even better, it's fat free! So I also had the new color "Cherry Cobbler" to play with and who ever picked the colors for me totally had me spot on.

I had done a card similar to this before, the layout is common but such an elegant look that I wanted to try it out with the new color, PLUS Kraft is now Crumb Cake so I wanted to use it as well.

As I type this American Idol is on and I don't know who is kicked off yet, the entertainment has been horrible, but the stories they are telling are heart wrenching. It was nice to see Annie Lennox, I love her, in fact, I was rocking away and singing a Eurythmics song when Jeff first met me.

It is cool to see Randy playing the guitar, and I do love the Stairway to Heaven song, at least I know it.

OK, so its over now and Teflon Tim is gone, who bets he is on Glee before this season ends?

Stamp Set: Elements of Style, Three Little Words

Paper: Kraft (soon to be Crumb Cake -also fat free), Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Old Olive, So Saffron, Whisper White craft

Misc: White Taffeta, Latte button, My Way punch, white gel pen

So if anyone out there has a Droid do you know how I can remove my emails coming in?  I added my regular email account so it would come through, but I find that the gmail works better with the phone, so I have my gmail pulling my other emails, so now I am getting them twice, and I can NOT figure out how to remove the other account...ugh.  I set it to never get the emails, but it resets itself.  Gotta love technology eh?

Well I am gonna go back to cutting paper, I have a big shot class this weekend.

Glee

Sweet scoops close

I really need to get the first season of this show and watch it, cause I think this is the second season, I have seen it a few times, and I love that it is on after American Idol cause you are all pumped for the music.  I loved tonights with all the Madonna songs and how the song lyrics work into the story line, and I love how Sue the cheerleader coach is so sarcastic and has some margarine or the like comment about Will the music teacher's hair.

As for American Idol here is my two cents worth on tonight's episode:

Casey:  He did pretty good, I didn't hate it like the judges seemed to, it was a little like we are used to see him doing.  Looks like he got a tan.

Lee: I love him, there it is out in blog-ville, I am so torn between him and Crystal, I think it will come down to these two, and I know that I will buy Lee's CD the first day it comes out, and I hope it comes with a life size poster.

Tim:  He has kinda figured out what to do to continue, with the type of song and the guitar, but tonight he was pitchy and just didn't cut it.

Aaron:  This song was a little bit too big for him, he did get better towards the end, but he just still seems very uncomfortable.

Siobhan: Wow, what was up with the jungle dress with the butterflies, she is like a chameleon, she looks different every week.  I did not care for the song, and I hate that she has to explain herself every week...I just want to say "NEXT" to the screen.

Mike: Can this dude (I can't believe I said dude at my age), anyway can he get any bigger, I am waiting for his shirt to bust open in the back, he's like the Incredible Hulk.  I did not know the song, so it was okay for me. He seems so cocky and now that he got the only save this year, seems like he is even more like that.

Crystal:  This girl brings it every week, and I loved the Mic stand she had, and I feel bad she cried at the end of the song, cause then we cried too, but it was a beautiful song.

I voted for Lee and Crystal.

I am anxious to see what Alicia Keys does tomorrow, and I can also hardly wait for Country and Western night and hope they don't have Taylor Swift mentor them, I am hoping like Reba.

So this is another of the cards I did for the Color Renovation for the Stampin' Success, this one was one of the on-line bonus cards in the Demonstrator side of the website.
