A Christmas Wish...

DSCN3052 copy

...hoping you have a great Thanksgiving!

One of the cards I got at Founder's Circle was this awesome card by Kelly Acheson (Hi Kelly, Beth told me you said hi!!) and I knew I had to do it for my Stamp a Stack of Christmas cards, it is beautiful and pretty easy. Plus it's one ink pad. You can't beat that when you are making 100 Christmas cards... or however many you make. Kelly used a different greeting and embossing folder, so I just changed it that much, so basically it's still Kelly's card.

Stamp Set: Scenic Season, Home for Christmas

Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White

Ink: Night of Navy

Misc: Northern Flurry embossing folder, Dazzling Diamonds, 2 1/2" circle punch, 1" circle punch, Stampin' Sponge

To get the moon look.  Stamp your trees in Night of Navy on Whisper White cardstock.  Punch out with the 2 1/2" circle punch.  Using a 1" circle punch, punch out a piece of post it note paper, make sure to leave some of the sticky stuff on the back, that way it will stay on the cardstock when you sponge.  Put the post it note circle over top of the bird flying (this is why you left the sticky stuff on the back of the post it note). Using your stampin sponge, sponge Night of Navy ink over the trees, making sure to avoid the snow area under the trees.  When you get the desired darkness, remove the post it note circle and you will have a moon. Cool eh?

I hope you are enjoying your Thanksgiving day and you are all filled with yummy foods, and you have lots of family and friends around you.

Make sure you get lots of sleep, especially if you are one of those shoppers who get up at the crack of dawn for Friday.  If not, make sure you are back here tomorrow, you don't want to miss my post.

Have a great Thursday and thanks for stopping in!

What a Crock...

DSCN3049 copy

I said I would tell you the story about the mugs. My sweet antique hunting friend Sharon sent me a photo of those cute mugs she found at her local grocery store, and I was like oh wow what size are they? and she told me and I realized they would work perfect for my club girls and I could put their initial on them.  So I have the same grocery store by me. In fact I have two of them, one has more stuff then the other but the store Sharon got them at was the regular one.  So I drive on over there and can't find them.  I look all over the store.  Sharon gives me the UPC code off of it, and the girl at customer service said they can't look things up like that. I am thinking ok whatever, I guess I don't know anything.  So I headed over to the other store, and same thing, none to be found. One of the stock girls asked if she could help me and I told her and she put the UPC code in her hand held thing (she just raised her eyebrows when I said the other store said they couldn't look things up that way - I think the eyebrow raise meant perhaps I do know some things after all).  But somehow the code was not coming up.  So I called Sharon back and she said she would zip over to her store and grab me some.  So she did, she went to two stores even.  What a doll eh?

So a couple days later I am at my store, and I walk by the cereal aisle end cap and guess what I see? No, not Snap Crackle & Pop dancing on the shelf with Count Chocula (although I did hear they are auditioning for Season 12 of Dancing with the Stars). I saw the dang mugs, all four colors. Plus on another end cap there was soup bowls too.  Now it was my turn to take a picture and send it to Sharon, we both got a good laugh about it. So now you know the mug story.  It is funny how Sharon and I are like that, she will show me something and then I want it, and I will show her something and she wants it too. It's been shoes, purses, pyrex dishes, and I am probably missing something.  Too fun! Love ya girl!

So when I stopped over at MAMMa's last week to say hi to the girls at class, I fell in love with this Christmas card, so I wanted to do it for my Stamp a Stack of Christmas cards.  MAMMa had a trinket pin hanging on her ribbon, but if you remember yesterday's card the class girls are already using the pin on the snowman card, so I used pearls instead.

DSCN3048 copy
After I took the picture I wondered what they would look like if I put the pearls on the tree instead? Hmmm...

Stamp Set: Contempo Christmas, Welcome Christmas

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Old Olive

Paper: Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Deck the Halls DSP

Misc: Ornament punch, pearls, Victoria Crochet trim

Isn't this a pretty card? Thanks MAMMa!

Another thing Sharon has got me back to doing is...well not exercises which I should be doing. Oh man I am not even going to tell you how much weight I have put on, I am back to where I started when I wanted to lose when I was doing the Shupe Diet...ha! Bah Humbug!

Anyway, it's this...

DSCN3044 copy
...a crock pot! Oh and she also got me using a crockpot liner...this makes cleaning up the crock pot so much easier.I used to use it all the time and then kinda forgot about it, so I used my old one the other day and then I got this brand new one with a timer at the store, and used it today to do a pot roast.  Even though I work from home I don't know why I don't use it more often. So I am going to start using it all the time.  Cause then I know we will eat out less, save money and maybe lose weight.  I am going to go get a second one cause I have some amazing desserts that cook in the crock pot too. Yeah notice I go from gonna lose weight to dessert...ha!

I want to Welcome some new girls to my team. Joyce, Karel, Judy & Jan. I am so excited to have them join my Di's Country INKers family.

If you have been thinking about joining Stampin' Up! I would love to talk to you about it.  The kit is half off right now, it's only $87.50, but you wanna hurry, that price ends on November 30.

Well I am gonna hit the hay, I got almost all my cards cut for my class, I have some card stock not here yet and ribbons, but then it'll be all done when my order gets here...yeah!

Have an awesome Wednesday and thanks for stopping in!

Soft "Suede" as Snow

DSCN3043 copy

As I was blog hoppin' around checking out some of my faves I saw a cute card layout on Renee Van Stralen's blog so I thought it would be a great one to do for my Stamp a Stack of Christmas cards.

I hadn't used this image yet from my Jolly Old Saint Nick set, and he fit the circle punch perfectly. Can you be addicted to the vintage trinkets? Cause I do believe I might be.

Stamp Set: Jolly Old Saint Nick, Tiny Tags

Paper: Soft Suede, Basic Black, Whisper White

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze

Misc: Perfect Polka dots embossing folder, White taffeta, vintage trinkets, jewelry tag punch, 2 1/2" circle punch

I wanted to show you, Carey especially...ha! (hugs to you and Roscoe) the few things I picked up the other day.  There was a flea market in the parking lot at the antique mall, my niece Lauren and I got there about 7:30 am, I didn't find a desk, but I did find a few fun things that I will be using in my studio.

DSCN3039 copy
I found a long bread loaf pan (I have never seen one this long) and I also got a sewing machine drawer, I have seen them at a few places, but this one was in really good shape.  They are perfect for ribbon.

DSCN3030 copy
I picked up some measuring spoons for my glitters and embossing powders and this pointy wheel thing. I have seen my idol Anna Wight do some wicked stuff with this tool so I am gonna try it out.  The lady had everything half off, so this little bunch of stuff was a steal.

DSCN3031 copy
I'm not sure what I am going to do with this for real. Right now it has door prize/hostess gift stuff in it.  I don't think it's an antique, but I like enamelware stuff.

DSCN3034 copy DSCN3035 copy
I also got this, it's a hard fold out ruler.  I had totally forgot about these things, until the man came to measure for my studio and he used one of these a few times and then I was like "my Poppa had one of those". So when I saw it there I had to have it.  They had two different ones and they were two different brands, and this one seemed better, much more tighter and I even called my BFF Tracy's cutie patootie Steve. He is a jack of all trades and one of those is a carpenter, and he even named this brand without me telling him. So I was right this was the better one, and now I own it and it sits on my work table.

DSCN3027 copy
At one of the antique stores I saw that they had scrabble tiles that spelled out stuff and I thought what a fun idea.  So I have these words placed around my studio. Fun eh?

It's a Door Buster!

Remember that commercial years ago that the woman would stand outside looking into the store window saying "Open! Open! Open!"  That is exactly how I feel.

Stampin' Up! told us on Saturday that there was going to be some awesome deals, half off prices, free shipping things like that, and I can hardly wait to see what it was all about. Don't forget for every on-line order you place in my store you are earning a ticket for a chance to win the free stamp sets of the month for November. This special is from me only and not Stampin' Up!  It's a two pack!!! It's "Birthday Bakery" (Level 1 Hostess set) and "Things I Love".  To earn a ticket to win these sets all you need to do is place an on-line order in my store from November 1 - November 30.  Place two orders, get two tickets and so on...it's that simple.   My online store is open 24-7. I will pick the winning ticket on December 1 and notify the winner.

I told you I would show you the goodies my Club girls got when they came on Saturday.  Usually I have them stamp but this time I had their goodie all ready for them.  We are skipping December cause that is a busy month for everyone, so this is kind of a little Christmas gift.

DSCN3019 copy
The mug is from the local grocery store, it looks like an enamel mug but it is actually ceramic.  I cut out my Decor Element Raw vinyl with my Big Shot and then applied it to the mug.  They will just hand wash the mug, and I told them I probably would not put in the microwave.

DSCN3020 copy
I put in a couple packs of Hot Chocolate, some Werthers Candies (Hard & Soft), and I also gave them one of my Owl Magnetic Calendars.  I still have a few calendars left, and you can find them in my Etsy store.

I tied them all up with some Striped ribbon and put a tag on it, and voila'! An adorable gift if I may say so myself.

DSCN3024 copy
Oh and tomorrow I am gonna tell you the story about the mugs, it is too funny!

Well this old girl is getting her last card figured out for my Christmas Stamp a Stack so I can get all the supplies ordered tomorrow.

Have an awesome Monday and thanks for stopping in!

Sweet Sugar

I finally figured out how to add the Google Friend Connect thingie. Now if you click that (its off to the right in the column) it will put my blog into your reader. Cool eh? I know I love that when I am blog hopping and that is on a blog, a quick click and that is all it takes.

Sally sent me this cute video she found on YouTube so I thought I would share it with you on this awesome Sunday.  Sure does put a smile on your face, and makes you wonder how hard it was for the guy to let the little hummingbird go free, it sure looks like they bonded.

Reminds me of the little one that I was feeding last year, that got smacked mid air by another one.

You can see that post here if you want.

Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping in!
