Home for Christmas

DSCN3017 copy

As much as I would like to be going home for Christmas, we won't be.  Jeff always gets mad (well not mad but you know what I mean) when I say home and I mean home to Canada where my family is.  He says "this is your home.".  I know it is but when I am here I say Canada is home, when I am there, I call Arizona home. My little sister is getting married next year, so we will be going home for that, at least I will, not sure on the guys yet.

I wanted to make up a card to show off water coloring with the ink refills again, this is a different card then I show on my tutorial (my favorite thing to do is sit and color), and make mention of how easy it really is. I have a made up a tutorial to show you how to do it.  If you have found your way to my blog via Becky Roberts' blog, I want to thank you for coming, and I want to say a big THANK YOU to Becky! You are the sweetest girlfriend, you really are!

You can read more about the tutorial on this post. I want to thank all of you that have ordered the PDF so far and have let me know how much you appreciate it. I also figured out how to put the PayPal doohickee for the PDF on my sidebar.

The Tutorial is $3.95 and contains 7 pages of step by step instructions and color photos for Water Coloring With Ink Refills. The tutorial will be emailed to you as an Adobe PDF file following your purchase.

I am totally in love with these vintage trinkets, I love pinning tags on everything. It makes it quick and cute too.

Stamp Set: Home for Christmas, Tiny Tags

Paper: Deck the Halls DSP, Soft Suede, Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, Watercolor Paper

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, River Rock, Sahara Sand, Marina Mist, Baja Breeze, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake

Misc: Victoria Crochet trim, Vintage trinkets, paper piercer, mat pack, black marker for the faux stitching

I did some faux stitching on here, but when I get the new studio done I am actually going to have a place to leave my sewing machine and that makes me happy, I am sure I will sew more if I can leave my machine up.  Not mending sewing, I mean card sewing, had to get that out there so Jeff does not get all excited his pants are gonna get repaired, buttons added back on shirts, things like that. Whew! That was close.

Well I just got back from making a quick visit over to MAMMa's to say hi to Mandy and all the girls. It has been forever since I seen them all.  Now I am headed to bed.  I am getting up early. The antique place is having a sale and like a flea market thing in the parking lot.  I am hoping to get a great deal on a desk.  Ya just never know right?

I also have my Club girls coming over tomorrow afternoon, I'll show you the little goodie they are getting later.

Have an awesome Saturday and thanks for stopping in!

Frosty

DSCN2973 copy

I could have used a bit of frosty today, I don't know what the temperature was, in the 80's I think, but I turned the a/c on. Yep the a/c in November.  My Dad called today from Canada and said it was snowing. Snow or heat, I don't know what I would rather.

So I thought to make me feel a little cooler I would look through my Founder's Circle cards for a nice cool card, and this one fit the bill.

This card was made by Jane Wike. Thanks Jane, this is so cute!

Owl Calendars

Diana Gibbs 2011 owl calendar close

Whoo! Whoo!

Today I worked on 2011 Magnetic Calendars to put in my Etsy store.  These are such fun to do.  They take a bit of time to put the little hooter together, but he is so worth it.  I did them assembly line like.

I put on HGTV and went to work.

There is a magnet on the back so you can hang him on the fridge or any metal service.

So these little guys are looking for a good home.  Thanks for checking them out.

Oh and if anyone watches the TV show The Middle, can you tell me why the little boy repeats in a whisper what he said last?  I really want to like that show, but I wish it was as funny as Everybody Loves Raymond.  I do however really like Modern Family.

Have an awesome Thursday and thanks for stopping in!

I cried a little today when I saw the engagement announcement of Prince William to Kate Middleton, and then to find out he gave her his Mum's engagement ring.  It reminded me of when Princess Diana and Prince Charles were engaged. I remember at the time I was in school, I had a brief boyfriend, I say brief cause I was young and it was kinda more talk you know, like ohh we are going steady blah! blah! Anyway his name was Charles, so it was kinda funny back then, we were Charles & Di. But I remember getting up so very early to watch Charles and Di get married, and the long flowing gown, and then the birth of the boys.  I know being Canadian I think the royal family are more well known and followed then in America, that is just me thinking.

I also remember the day that Princess Diana died, I can cry now just thinking of it.  I was visiting a girlfriend in Bakersfield and we had a day of fun, shopping, eating, having a grand old time, and then to get back to the house, turn on the TV and hear that Diana had died.  I thought it was like some bad joke or something, and that I must have heard them wrong.  Then I felt so horrible that I had been having such a good time, while Diana was dieing, I know it's silly to think that but I did.  So anyway, I guess today is bittersweet, I am so glad and happy for William and Kate, but sad too that Diana won't be there to see it. I hope she is looking down from Heaven with a big smile on her face.

OK enough of me getting all melancholy.

This is a card swap that I got at Founder's Circle, and there is no name on it, but I think it was stamped by my friend "bye-bye" Colleen Magness.  If it is not I'll correct it.

Remember I showed you this framed "art" the other day?

DSCN2993 copy

Well now look at it...

DSCN2998 copy
...do you like it? I Shabby Chic-ed up the frame.

DSCN2999 copy
It was not that hard to do (granted I was only doing a picture frame). I don't know if I did it right, but it worked. I watched a few videos on YouTube. I had gone to Home Depot and showed the paint girl the cabinets I wanted to copy and then she picked these two as close colors.  I painted on Swiss Coffee which was the white color, I did a couple coats.  Then after it was dry I put on a Blanket Brown glaze, and I wiped it off (Jeff didn't want that old t-shirt anymore anyway).  I sprayed it with a acrylic sealer that oopsee I laid it on the side walk and left a mark. I think I am going to do that to my lateral cherry wood color file cabinet.

If my new cabinets came white, I would probably attempt to do this to them.  Since they are going to come natural wood and I don't have the equipment, or the time to paint them myself, I'm just gonna shabby chic my decorations instead. Jeff said tonight, "we can always paint them later." and I am thinking well gee I would think painting before they are hung would be easier...that's just me though.

I talked to the guy tonight and it looks like the cutting table wall won't be done till the first of January and the computer wall won't be done till the first of February.  That is a little longer then I was hoping, but hey it will get done and it will be here before you know it right? That'll give me time to paint the ceiling, and purge.

I have been busy making a variety of tags and bags to sell, so I will stamp something new for you tomorrow.  If you are interested in any of the tags and bags, or just tags let me know.  I will put them in my Etsy store unless you holler at me.

Have an awesome Tuesday and thanks for stopping in!
