Brooch the Subject

063 copy

So it has taken me forever to finish my brooch that was a make n take from Leadership, in fact I have not done any of the others either..oops! So tonight I finished my brooch, I had done the starch stuff to the flowers at Leadership and that was it.

Stamp Set: Clearly for you

Cardstock, Very Vanilla, First Edition DSP

Ink: Jetblack Stazon

Misc: Very Vanilla Tafetta ribbon, Baja Breeze seam binding, Very Vanilla seam binding, Victoria crochet trim, Springtime Vintage fabric, Champagne mist shimmer paint, Beveled Windowpane, Paper daisies, Scallop Circle punch, Fun Flowers Die, Trinket key

So I got my hair cut and the old dyed out today so I wanted Jeff to take a couple pictures to update my blog picture, and I always forget to tell him that he needs to hold the button down just a bit so it can focus and then take the picture, so these are the pictures he took, and once I remembered about the finger he had already gone to bed.

Trying to suck everything in...

Trying to look innocent...

I got an idea!

If I hold Toby no one will even notice me...ha!

So then I ended up putting the camera on the tri-pod and took a bunch that way...

This is harder then it looks, I just want a half decent picture, and no one is more critical about me then ME! But you can see how my hair is growing eh? Oh and my fun punch box behind me.

Oh well like MAMMa says "it is what it is!"

I'm gonna say night and maybe finish the rest of my Leadership make n takes.

Have an awesome Tuesday, thanks for putting up with my silliness today!

Mimeograph Monday - Hey Chick!

004 copy

When Carol (hey honey!) came to my Open House I told her I wanted to do one day a week where I copied a card or project out of the catalog or mini catalog but I wanted to name it something that started with the day name, there is no day that starts with "C" so I couldn't use the word copy, so we were just gabbing about it. So later she emailed me and said Mimeograph meant copy so that was perfect so Mimeograph Monday was born and this is the first day it'll "hatch" ha!

In fact mimeograph is I think what they used at school years ago to make photocopies and I remember helping sort paper and it smelled so good, and it seemed almost damp. Do you remember that?

So this cute card is from the Idea Book & Catalog and it is on page 48.  I did not have any of the white thread so I skipped that and instead I put some "fake thread" with my faux stitching.  I also used different polka dotted DSP as I did not have what the recipe called for and I added some white gel pen as a highlight and shaded the chick and the egg, and colored the beak,  but basically it is the same card. I just gave it the Diana touch. Neat eh?

Stamp Set: A Good Egg

Paper: Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Riding Hood Patterns DSP

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Daffodil Delight, Riding Hood Red, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie

Misc: Paper Piercer tool, mat pack, white gel pen, blender pen, dimensionals

The card is a 4x4.

So today at class I made sure to have Jeff take a picture so you could see how I set up the studio for my My Digital Studio class.

006 copy
I just moved the tables in a row like a classroom, and I sat at my desk with my laptop plugged into the bigger monitor so the girls could see what I was doing and so they could follow along with their laptop.  This was just a beginners class but it was fun and I think everyone enjoyed it and definitely learned more then they knew before.

007 copy
Smile for Jeff girls!! Too fun!

Did you know that Stampin' Up! has a group that anyone can join to learn more about My Digital Studio? There are pictures, and tutorials and all sorts of stuff, you can sign up here. Did you also know that every Tuesday new downloads are added? Yep, just head over to my store and check them out.

Check out these two crazy girls...

005 copy
...Connie and Donna! When Donna emailed me about class she mentioned she was getting over a cold, and me being the germafobe and not able to take antibiotics I asked her if she was contagious, and she said no she was fine.  So when the girls came this morning they walked into the house wearing masks, I thought I was gonna pee my pants, but instead I grabbed my camera, those brats! I love you two, you know that. Mwah!! Another reason I am so thankful that Stampin' Up! came into my life, all the people I have met over the years, either in person or online, I would never have met you if it was not for Stampin' Up! and the friendships are priceless I tell ya!

Well I am gonna clean up and call it a night, have an awesome Monday and thanks for stopping in!

Our friends at Wikipedia say that vintage is:

Vintage is a process in wine-making.

Vintage is also a term used to describe something as old or antique.

I mean there was more talking about wine and stuff but this is the short version.  Ellie sent me the cutest card today when she sent her class fee, and she called it "vintage" cause it is an old retired Stampin' Up! stamp set, and I'll be darned if I didn't own it at one time. Don't you just love this card? Oh wait I've only shown you a ya Paul Harvey would say "the rest of the story"

001 copy

I am not sure where the greeting came from, but you gotta love the play on words, it would be easy enough to make with Stampin' Up!'s personalized stamps.  The eggs, that I love, are actually from the current stamp set Nature Walk from the mini catalog. Thanks Ellie for the card, I love it...into my glass cabinet it goes!!

Today I had my first ever My Digital Studio class, and the rest is tomorrow, it went not too bad, it was a beginners class, and I set the room up like a classroom and then I used my 24" monitor hooked to my laptop so the girls could see what I was doing and they could follow along with their laptops.

Then we headed to the movies to see "Rango" and it was very cute. Jeff had to pee so bad after the movie was over but I made him wait till I saw Alex's name and then we left. He has the bladder of a gecko...Jeff, not Alex...ha!

So this post will be short and sweet, have a blessed Sunday and thanks so much for stopping in to see me each day!

That Old Black Magic

018 copy

I'm gonna be super quick tonight, I have a beginners My Digital Studio class in the morning so I got to rearrange my studio a bit.

This is one of the gorgeous cards I got a while ago from my BFF Tracy.  It uses the black magic technique.  You stamp your image with white craft ink and let it dry, you can speed the drying process up with the heat gun if you want.

Then color over the white ink with a colored pencil.  Cool eh?

019 copy
Here it is in full, love all the Tracy details she does on it, the pearls, the embossing, the punching. Love it, and love you Tracy for sending me such beauties.

So my dang heel has been hurting, and I said maybe I have a heel spur and Jeff said they are called bone spurs, but it is the back of my heel, not the heel part that touches the floor. It's driving me nuts. Looks like I need to make a doc appointment.

Well this old gal is getting off here, and I hope you have the best Saturday, we are going to take Eric to see Rango after classes tomorrow I think.

Thanks for stopping in, I really appreciate it.

Gonna Miss Bliss

003 copy

14 days and counting, that is as long as you have to get this beautiful stamp set for free, then poof! it will be gone.  I can't tell you how long it has been since there has been a stamp set that I knew I was really going to miss.  Don't miss out, make sure to place your Sale-a-Bration order and get your Bliss set.

I wanted to make a quick card tonight so I grabbed a note card, trimmed it down a bit, then I added a piece of the new Paisley Petals DSP underneath, as a Demonstrator we can pre-order this now - customers can get it next month - don't want to wait? Give me a shout I would love to have you join my downline of amazing stampers.

001 copy
Stamp Set: Bliss

Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Paisley Petals DSP

Ink: Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler

Misc: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch

Ribbon border? What ribbon border punch?

004 copy
See the tiny little scalloped edge on the card?

005 copy
It's this just mounted underneath so you just see the scallop, you could let the little holes show too. Neat eh? It is a very versatile punch.

I left the card with no greeting cause I am not sure what I am going to use it for yet. I might add some pearls or a tag or something, it depends on where it goes.

So lately we have been letting the girls out at night when we change their water, one night Stella came out and I left the others in and they threw a fit, so now I let them all out.  The first night I put them in myself and it took me a while to get them in there, the next night I had Jeff help me and it was a little easier cause we kinda coralled them in. The next night we didn't even have to touch them we just walked and they knew what to do. So the last two nights, they seem to know when Daddy shows up it's time to go inside.  Jeff said he is talented that way. Ok...

007 copy
Here's Daddy-o changing the water, he hates to get his picture taken.

011 copy
The girls on the other hand are getting used to the camera, here's Stella modeling the latest in this season's Bravo Burgundy.

012 copy
Pertie Gertie, even though she still is the most timid of the four, she is the most prettiest of all...but my gosh don't tell Stella I told you that.

013 copy
OMG! Stella again, I think she is saying did you get my good side? I think you got my bad side last time! Take another picture.

014 copy
Clara the Golden, standing in the weeds, trying to see what all the fuss is about.

017 copy
Poor Alice, she is none too pleased that I didn't get her picture till she was back in the coop. Look at that face? Ha! She's saying "yep I got all those dang wires in front of my face don't I? Last time I roll around in the dirt for you lady!"

So American Idol tonight, stop reading now if you didn't see it. OMG! I laughed cause Gail emailed me before we even saw it and said the person she wanted voted off didn't get voted off, luckily she didn't say who.  We don't see it live, in fact we see it three hours later then my BFF Tracy sees it.

I was so happy to see my Lee Dewyze on there, I have been listening over and over to his CD, so it was awesome to see his cuteness on there again. As for the Black Eye Peas, blech, we muted that stuff.

So I think I guessed right as to the bottom three, I will have to go back and check my notes.  I am glad they kept Naimi, and when it got to Haley and Karen at the end, I didn't really care who got it. I am glad the judges did not waste their save on her. I know that sounds mean, but it's how I feel.

Well I am headed for beddie bye.

Have an awesome Friday and thanks so much for stopping in!
