I'm a Stamper...

...not a crochet-er.

 Years ago Granny tried to teach me how to crochet.  She used to crochet the most amazing doilies and afghans.  I remember this one time she crocheted a picture of the Queen's head and it was made out of all these squares.  In fact I think I have it in my closet.  When you stand back the Queen's head pops right out.  Well she would lay it down on the floor to check it out as she went and the cat would go and sit on the face each time.  She would get mad and shoo the cat away. Too funny.

Granny made a lot of doilies, big and small, and she would sell them once in a while and just charge what the crochet cotton cost her, and this would drive Poppa bonkers, cause he would say "you sat there for days making that, you have to charge more!" but she was content in getting her cost.

When Granny tried to teach me, she would get on my case about how I was holding my fingers, I think I had my pinkie sticking up to hold the crochet cotton and she would say "put that finger down!" too funny, and such amazing memories of the fun times I have had with Granny.  I was very lucky to have her in my life as I grew up, and am so lucky to have her still. I can't wait to see her in September.

Don't laugh, but here is my first and only pineapple that I ever crocheted.

This is one of the new sets that will be available on July 1.  Isn't this card gorgeous?  I was so surprised to get it in the mail when I got back from cruise.  It came from the girls that work the Special Events at Stampin' Up! Now that would be a dream job, they get to go to such amazing places, and they are so much fun and you can tell they love their job.

The other day we got chinese food for supper. Boy I sure miss the chinese food from when I was growing up, I remember the big chicken balls, the egg rolls that had like those sprouts or something in them and the rice I just remember tasting better...oh well, you get what you pay for and I guess making chinese food almost like a fast food will do that.

So one of the chinese cookies had this inside:

"Fear can keep us up all night long, but faith makes one fine pillow."

Isn't that an amazing saying?

Was That My Eyeball Floating By?

I was told by the Doc to add more fiber to my diet (just use your imagination as to why) and also drink more water.

Now I am drinking so much water that my toes are starting to web, and my eyes are floating. I also go potty every half hour. Thank goodness I work at home and can pee without scheduling it in or waiting for my break.  How do people do it that cashier at a grocery store or work in a toll booth?  Do they wear a pee bag?

I did go back for a follow up check up today and there are still some issues, so I have to have blood drawn to check on my kidney functions.  She also pressed around on my belly and ouch it hurt near my appendix so she said to keep an eye on that. She said it was not related to my other issues.  Sucks to get old eh? Perhaps it was that I started back on my pilates today, maybe it was my muscles...ha!

As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I get a magazine every month from Stampin' Up! called Stampin' Success and there was the cutest card on the cover and I wanted to make it for my Stamp Club girls, I did tweak it a bit and I hope they like it.

Tonight I watched Harry Potter, the Deathly Hallows Part One, and it was pretty good, I think I saw the one before it.  Was there a fire in the fields, and Dumbledoore was in a boat in the water with bodies floating?  I really would love to have a weekend where I watch them all, cause I do forget some of them.  I did think that the girl that played Hermoine looked so thin.  I would love to have her purse though that is like the tiniest thing but is totally bottomless, she had everything in there. They have all grown up so much, and Ron with the deep voice now.

Well enough of that, I am going to head to bed, I am reading a new book on my Nook called "13 Little Blue Envelopes" and it is pretty good.  It was one of the Free Friday books at Barnes and Noble.  I usually try to remember to check them out to see if they might be something I want to read.

Cherish Friendship

Maybe it should be called "Chair"ish Friendship?

So when I saw the new catalog, this set jumped out at me and I knew I needed to get it, and then when Stampin' Up! showed us the sets that we could pre-order ahead of time (one of the Demonstrator perks) and this was one of them, well I took that as a definite sign that it had to come home with me.

It could also be called the Aflec set cause of the goose.

Repo Man

So tonight after dinner some guy shows up at the door looking for some person we don't know so they can reposess a car.  Jeff was out there gabbing for the longest time and I don't know if the guy didn't believe him or what, but then Jeff comes in the house and yells "come here and clear this up".  So I looked at the guy's paperwork and they have someone's name, and the only thing I recognize is the last name Gibbs, everything else is I don't have a clue.  Since the guy was having trouble finding the person, the bank said we were relatives, he says he has a system that he puts social security numbers in and relatives come up.  So I told him well his system is not accurate cause we had never heard of this person.

Before he left he says "here's my card in case you hear anything", and I'm thinking like what all of a sudden out of the blue we are going to hear about some stranger?  He even wanted to walk around the property to look for this car.  So Jeff walked him around.  I say it was very weird, and I would not want his job, he said one guy tried to shoot him tonight.  I much prefer to stamp in the safety of my home.

So as I stamped today, without the danger of being shot at, I finished my GoDiva swaps and they are all ready to go in the mail tomorrow, I'll show you a little sneak peek...

It's a Tie

Ha! Told ya...it's actually 5 ties.

This is one of the cards that the girls did at class.  I saw a card by Ann Truenow and just changed the colors, I thought it was simple and so cute.  Thanks Ann!
