While I Have a Minute...

028 copy

...between classes, and working on my GoDiva swap, I thought I would quick post another card for my 10/10/20 Christmas card class this weekend.

I got the cutest card from Dee Yates at Founder's (Thanks Dee!) and I knew I wanted to do it at class.  I changed the ribbon but other than that, I pretty much cased it.

027 copy

Stamp Set: Christmas Lodge

Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Frostwood Lodge DSP

Ink: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler

Misc: Dazzling Diamonds, Vintage Trinkets brad, Cherry Cobbler Seam binding

029 copy
See how pretty it dazzles?

Added later: Today's classes were so much fun, I always love having everyone here and we get to laughing.  Tonight I had a bit of a smaller group so I sat and colored and cut out snowmen after everyone got settled in stamping.  We even all got talking about food and different restaurants so by the time everyone left I was hungry...ha!

Well I am going to head for bed, maybe I'll eat some cereal first, is that bad at 11:00pm?

Have a blessed Sunday and thanks for stopping in.

Stitched Stocking

I love our Builder Punches, and when I saw the new Stocking one I might have squealed.  It is so cute.

I got this cute card below from Connie Heisey at Founder's Circle. (Thanks Connie!)

004 copy
I was already using the Pines & Poinsettias stamp set on another card at class, so I used her layout and made it a notecard size instead and changed the set...what do you think?

017 copy
Doesn't it look cute with the stocking punch?

Stamp Set: Contempo Christmas, Stitched Stockings

Ink: Versamark, Garden Green

Misc: Cherry Cobbler Quilted Satin ribbon, Stocking Builder punch

Well as much as I would love to chat more, I have to finish setting up my room for tomorrow.

Have an awesome Saturday and thanks for stopping in.

Sparkling Polka Dots

014 copy

It's a quick post tonight, I got still lots to do, every single table space is covered in my studio. I still have some Fall Fest stuff to put away cause I had classes and then my two trips right after that.  I just need to take a couple days to do nothing but organize...but there is no time.

So here is another one of the cards from my 10/10/20 Christmas card class this weekend.

012 copy
Stamp Set: Snow Much Fun - I love this set

Paper: Real Red, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Watercolor paper (I love the new size), Holly Berry Bouquet Specialty DSP, see the sparkly polka dots?

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie

Misc: Scallop Squares Duo Die, Vintage Tinkets brad

Well did you watch Grey's Anatomy tonight, I had it on while I was cutting paper...wow, two episodes and this season looks like a good one. Is it the last one? I saw on a commercial where this is the final season of Desperate Housewives. I wonder if Brothers and Sisters is coming back on...will have to look that up.

Ok, this old gal is off to bed.

Have an awesome Friday and thanks so much for stopping in every day, it means a lot to me!

Date Night

006 copy

On a Wednesday?  Well Eric went to the ballgame and it was the Wine dinner over at the Deli, so I said to Jeff "wanna go?" and he said "yes". We'd never done the wine dinner before, but my friend Penny (Hi Penny) said it is awesome. I guess the Surf & Turf night is good too.

When you eat there at night they always bring out a flat bread and a brushetta (I think it is called) as an appetizer...I love it. In fact when my BFF Tracy was here she bought like a container of it.

002 copy

Here is the Wine Dinner Menu

First Course: Baby Meatballs of Chicken & Pork in a Rosemary, White Wine Broth with Roasted Garlic Crostini - Simple Life Chardonnay, California was the wine pairing

003 copy
This was so good!!

Second Course: Roasted Beets & House made Mozzarella over Baby Greens with a Citrus Basil Vinaigrette - Simple Life Pinot Noir, California was the wine pairing

006 copy
We love beets and had never had yellow ones or had them roasted, we usually just have them pickled and the red ones.

Third Course: Pan Roasted Halibut with Sauteed Wild Mushrooms, Sweet Corn, Crispy Bacon & Ditalini Pasta tossed in a Marsala Butter Sauce - Lot 205 Petite Sirah, California was the wine pairing.

008 copy
It was so delicious,  I think Jeff's eyes rolled back into his head when he took his first bite, but he was on his third glass of wine. I could have eaten just the pasta, mushrooms & corn. I felt like a judge on the food network, I was telling Jeff I loved the sweet crunch of the corn with the softness of the pasta and the mushrooms. 100 points and 2 thumbs up!!

005 copy
Here's Jeff enjoying one of his glasses of wine.  He did the wine pairing, I don't like wine, I tried a reisling and Jeff drank it I think, I only took a few sips.  It all seems bitter to me, like beer, blech!  I enjoyed my iced tea, they make a great one, I think it's passion fruit.

009 copy
We shared a piece of carrot cake. I can not go to the Deli without getting the carrot cake, it is so good.  They actually know I like it cold, the icing I could get it in a vat and eat my way out.

You wanna see the best waitress and waiter ever?

011 copy
This is Brandon & his sister Sarah.  They are super cute.  In fact the first time I met Brandon, he said his name was Randall. Seems that someone misheard him one time and he just said that was his name when anyone asked and finally he corrected it later, that was too funny. I think that was the same day I found out the two of them were brother and sister.

If you are ever over in the Queen Creek area, you should really head over to the Deli, it is family owned (in fact Blake the owner always stops by the tables and says hi). It's a husband, wife, a brother, sister and a Dad & Mum that run the place.  I wonder at times if they wish they had a bigger place, although I think since they opened up Poppy's Place next door it gives them more room for diners.

So did you watch the new show Revenge? It looks good eh?  I loved the main actress when she was on Brother's & Sisters.

I wanted to show another card from my 10/10/20 Christmas card class.

It was based on this card that my girlfriend Rhonda gave me.

004 copy
I turned it on it's side, changed the embossing folder and did it this way.

005 copy
Stamp Set: Pines & Poinsettias ( you know I got this set for free? yep, it's just one of the Demonstrator perks) Holiday Happiness

Paper: Early Espresso, Whisper WHite, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Letters to Santa

Ink: Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive Markers, Old Olive pad

Misc: Early Espresso Quilted Satin ribbon, 1 3/4" circle punch, 2 3/8" Scallop circle punch, Petals a Plenty embossing folder, Circles #2 Die, Tasteful Trim Die

007 copy
I love how this stamp set makes it look like snow on the pine cones.

008 copy
Don't you love the new quilted ribbon? I love that bit of added texture, you don't even need to tie it.

Well this girl has to get to bed.

Have an awesome Thursday and thanks for stopping in.

Shotgun Wedding

Courtney & Jay

Did I tell you that Courtney had a shotgun wedding?  Well actually it was just the rehearsal.  While we all stood there practicing or were being instructed by the Minister, all of a sudden a gun went off and we all jumped or ducked, then two more shots went off.  I was like what the heck? Is it hunting season?  An episode of Cops? Then about 15 minutes later it did it again.  So I guess the winery has guns go off at certain times of the evening to scare off the birds...well this old bird was scared. I would hate to live next door. We kept saying to each other "it's a shotgun wedding!" Ha!

The above picture is a sneak peek off the photographer's blog. Isn't this a beautiful picture? They are amazing photographers, a man and wife, and it was fun to see them taking pictures all day, and dancing a little bit holding their big cameras at the reception. I can not wait to see the final pictures.  Not sure if I told you or not, but Courtney and Jay's Wedding guest book that you sign when you went in was actually a photo book that the photographer made with all the engagement pictures and she left white space on the pages for us to sign like good well wishes, or tips for the new bride and groom, I thought it was a super idea, and makes me think that My Digital Studio would be great for this for other occasions too. How fun would it be to make a retirement book, or like an Anniversary one, or a Birthday one...yeah I know your gears are going a mile a minute in your noggin' too.

I wanted to show you this beautiful card made by Shelli and her daughter's Sara and Shalae. This was the card they swapped at Founder's Circle.  Now I need to get this stamp set cause I want to make this card. It is gorgeous! I'm such a dork I should have had them sign the back. I gave them three of my swap since they all worked so hard.  I teased Shalae and said I would only take one of theirs...ha!
