All Ready for Jax

Free 2013 - 2014 Catalog

My sweet niece Jade got her Mum, my little sister Jacqui (Jax for short) airplane tickets to come visit in October. I can not wait, it has been a long long time since Jax has been here, I mean she has never been to this house and we have been here since 97 I think.

So today I thought I would get the bed painted, I didn't think I would totally get it done, but I did.

Remember I got a screaming deal on this bed a while ago. The paint was a greenish/whitish look and painted really rough.  I wanted it shabby but not this much and with the bedding it needed to be more white. So yesterday I picked up an off white and today I painted it.

I am not the best painter and probably spraying it would have been better, but oh well and oops I should have sanded down some of the original painters drips, but I didn't...here it is after I painted it...see the drips? They stick out like a sore thumb at me now...speaking of which I cut my thumb this morning slicing a tomato...ouch! I don't want to try to fix them cause I think I will make more of a mess.

...and then I used my sanding block that is for the coordinations paper and I sanded it here and there.

I love the details it has on it.

Here it is...I guess with all the pillows you can hardly see the headboard let alone the drips. I love it and can't wait till Jacqui comes and sleeps in it.

Well this old gal is off to bed, my plain old one we have had forever...might need to look for one for us eh?

Pitch Perfect

Free 2013 - 2014 Catalog

I was texting with my sister Jacqui (Jax for short) and we were comparing TV shows we watch, and she asked if I had seen Pitch Perfect, and I had not.

Eric loves calling me whenever he goes to the store with his friend/support worker Mike and asking if I need anything, and I was like "hey if they have Pitch Perfect get me that" so he did. After all the club girls left Jeff and I headed to Home Depot, I needed to get paint and supplies to do the bed I picked up at the antique store, I figure with the long weekend, I will try to get it done.  

So when we got home Jeff and I watched it and it was pretty cute, and the music was great.  I loved seeing Anna Kendrick from Twilight,  Rebel Wilson from Bridesmaids and Anna Camp from True Blood in it.

I thought I better share another punch critter from my class. This one I cased from Delia Kettel, isn't it so cute? Thanks Delia.

Well I better tidy up from club and hit the hay.

Free 2013 - 2014 Catalog

At Leadership my sweet friend Sherri Peters gave me the cutest note pad with this little love bird (at least that is what I am calling it) on it so I knew I wanted to make it for my punch class. Thanks for always inspiring me girlfriend!

Hey, it's May

OK, well it is almost the end of May but I totally forgot to make my little desktop calendar, I just make it with My Digital Studio and I put it in the Desktop Display Calendar Case #127033.  I just do one each month.

Here is May. Not super fancy but I have fun every month doing them. To get the word "is" I just cropped the "remember this" stamp.

Here's another cute punch critter from my class. This one is a copy and a tweak from my friends Michelle Suit and Sherri Peters. (Thanks girls!!!)  I used the new punch called Artisan Label for the collar...this will be available May 31.

I think this one would be adorable on a frame so that you can let her ears stick out...when she is in the punch book her poor ears are flattened by the page protector.

Speaking of dogs, I did some shopping today for my new little niece Daphne, wow it sure is fun to shop for baby girl clothes, it has been a long time since there was a baby in our family. While I was shopping I had to pick up a few things for Toby, so he got two new toys and you should have seen him trying to decide which one to play with and then trying to pick them both up at the same time. Silly monkey.

Monkey...hey, that will be another cute punch critter to do in August!!! Where is my handy dandy note book?
