April Fool's Blog Hop
April 01, 2014
I am so excited for our third Blog Hop, we have 7 girls playing this time! I can't wait to see what they did.
We thought doing a fun or wacky kinda card would be perfect for April Fool's Day!
Did you know that April Fools's Day (April 1) is also (according to Wikipedia) "in Italy, France, Belgium, and French-speaking areas of Switzerland and Canada, the 1 April tradition is often known as "April fish" (poisson d'avril in French or pesce d'aprile in Italian). This includes attempting to attach a paper fish to the victim's back without being noticed. Such fish feature prominently on many late 19th- to early 20th-century French April Fools' Day postcards." Neat eh? I never heard about the paper fish on the back, but I have seen "kick me" on someone's back a few times when I was in school.
So I thought I would do a fish card, is that fun or wacky enough? Now you might be saying, "I don't remember a greeting saying best fishes?" well you would be right, I just used my stamp a ma jig to line up best wishes (removing the w) with the feel better soon (using the f). I just inked what I needed with a marker...cool eh? I cased and tweaked a card by Sandy Carlson, thanks Sandy.
